I had one with the 3-Tube Mod and it was AMAZING. I ran it through a Mesa Strategy 500 poweramp, then a Marshall 4x12 with Warehouse Speaker Veteran 30's. It was probably one of the heaviest rhythm tones I've heard but it was a little overkill for what I needed.
I agree, you can find the MP-1's for cheaper usually on eBay, or craigslist. I found one at a local music shop a fews years ago in brand new condition for $100.
I sold my last ADA MP-1 (stock, great condition, latest firmware) for $200 back in November 2008. I've seen them go as high as $300 last summer on ebay (stock, not modded). Those days are gone for now. MP-2 is holding its own, around $400 or so. I sold two last year, can't recall the prices, I think one went for $350 the other for $400 not sure, but they were in that range or I would have kept them. (I still have one MP-2 with noise mods that isn't going anywhere; and the ADA bass rig listed in my sig).
I can find one for $150 all day around here, go to any guitar shop that's been open for awhile and in the rack section, you will find a few MP-1's in there....
