I'll be getting flamed for this but...

Am I the only guy here who doesn't care for Les Pauls or the new(er) Charvel guitars?

I just don't find any of them that inspiring, and I've never really had a thing for Les Pauls. Surely, I must have some guitar player specific personality disorder. :dunno:

I don't really like Les Pauls and I don't like 80s hair metal guitars, (Even though I own one from the 80s) I do like the new(er) Charvels though, might buy a SoCal.

I hate Les Pauls, but that's what feels best for my fat hands.

I just recently sold my Les Paul Custom. I had a newer Charvel a while ago. Sold it as well. Loved the Les Pauls tone, but alas, cannot stand the way they feel and play. The Charvel was cool, but it had a Floyd Rose so it had to go. Should have never traded for it in the 1st place. Really didn't care for the looks either. Not bad, just not my thing. :aww:

You are not alone.....I feel the same way.

Yea, same here.

I've owned a number of LPs and superstrats, but never connected with them at all. They just didn't 'fit' right.

PRS Singlecuts, on the other hand, are very comfortable for me.

You are not alone sir. I dig LP's but hate every neck I've ever tried, and the superstrats are among the ugliest most un-inspired guitar shapes I've ever seen.

Im still waiting for a stream lined les paul type guitar that has the body shape of a LP single cut with the neck and feel a super strat.

This is the reason there's a manufacturer or model for every letter in the alphabet. To each their own, no biggy Bro.

I know how you feel, except my loneliness has to do with not giving a crap about Georgy Lynch, every other thread is about how to play, sound, look, whatever...about him...Really dont care for the guy or any other 80's crap bands (there is a few that rule). But hey, I can understand the fascination, when I was in my teens listening to Van Halen I was pumped, he was awesome, but all these other cats were just imitators, at the best.

I do love les pauls, some of them feel easier to play than others (in terms of weight distribution).

I like strats ALOT, I just think pointy headstocks are a joke (hatem) and I also cannot STAND Jackson hockey stick style crap.

BUT that seems to be very exciting for alot of people here, and Im super happy for them. SOMEONE has to like that stuff...Im not mad at them...I just dont dig it.

So your not alone bro.

Your Horizon doesn't have a pointy neck?

Wow, looks like we've got quite the little support group going here.

Ok guys, let it all out. It's alright to express how you really feel. This is now officially a "safe place" thread! :D

(can you tell I'm married to a professional counselor? :) )

I'm too in love with guitar playing to hate any guitar. There are some I like less than others but, to be honest, if it were possible I'd own at least one of every model of every brand ever made.

That said, my least favorite guitar of all time would have to be the headless steinberger.

Keytars. I hate keytars. If the entire world's supply of keytars was destroyed I wouldn't shed a single tear. That and those plastic guitar hero/rock band controllers.

Love Gibsons. Not big on any type of Superstrat really......Guess I'm halfway with ya!

I too am an LP hater. I've tried and tried to find what the LP lovers call "a good one" and just haven't found one. I've owned about 6 and played many others and in the end I just don't like the way they play or feel. I've also found that this great, special, "sound" they project is a little overexaggerated

I do love superstrats on the other hand :gethim: :D

I'm not a Les Paul "hater", but it's not the most comfortable guitar for me.... and for WHAT I PLAY for some reason it feels weird.... even the tone..... I don't associate Les Pauls with EXCELLENT cleans (maybe it's just me) but i my head the best cleans come from Strats, Tele, 335s, hollow bodies.....
