Dean guitars. I just don't, I can't think of a single Dean that I'd like to own, I'm a fan of Dimebag but I can't take Dean's seriously anywhere else but his hands, even with Dime playing them I don't like them.

I used to like deans, I had 3 USA razorbacks and they sounded and felt great but I grew tired of the shape and sold them. I liked the v-shaped necks too.
Currently I have zero desire to own any deans.

I don't know who designs them, they all have desirable features to me and then SLAM something that makes me hate them.

Like the Razorback Vs, they're cool metal guitars but I'd hate to use one and the headstock is just crazy. And the Soltero (is that right) with that weird body contour where the picking hand lies and the overall body shape and the headstock somehow doesn't work for me. It's a shame because I hear they're very well playing guitars, and of the Deans I've played I think played well, but the features spoil my desire to own one.

Now that I think about it, other than being a V I think the Mave signature isn't that bad, I liked the neck on it quite a bit when I played one.

Oh, and it doesn't help that they're riding on Dime's legacy as hard as they are.

I dont care for them either.
I have a Dean Baby ML that was given to me personally by Dean Zelinsky.
When I was living in Japan he wanted some Japan issue only toys for his Son and we did a few trades.
He hooked me up with a custom Dean guitars Leather Jacket and that Baby ML he signed to my Son.
That was a pretty cool experience though.

I had a few of the Washburn Dime guitars. I do like them, but I think that pointy guitars arent for me. I still have a Gibson V that mainly sits in the case.

That being said, they really dont have anything that interests me. If they have a Superstrat with that Mustaine headstock I may like it, but theres nothing to draw me more than Schecter/ESP/LTD, etc..

lol Mailman I remember reading a Trivium article years ago about how they loved Dean guitars because they were so much cooler in how they treated the band compared with Gibson guitars, gave them leather jackets too. :)

I have heard that Dean endoursees are forced to only use Dean gutiars, which is something I don't like, one one level it's reasonable though I guess.

Hmm, my Jackson import King V does alot of sitting around, but I think that's also because it's set up for drop C and that's a tuning I don't use often.

Im gonna have to agree. Ive just never been a fan of guitars that look like swords. I love metal, but dont wanna play one that screams metal only. If I had an endorsement thru them the only one I could probably tolerate would be Vinnie Moore's guitar.

I have a Gibson Gothic V. One of my favorite Gibson guitars. But, sadly, I play my LTD Viper-400 way more. The Gibson is a better guitar all around, but the Viper is way more comfortable to me. They are tuned about the same.

What are they tuned to? I have an Epiphone Goth lp, the goth series is one of my favourite Gibson series', along with the voodoo, I'd love a voodoo explorer.

I liked their guitar advertisements in the late '70's. Anyone who's old like me will understand. :D

The model that Vinnie Moore is playing actually looks like a nice guitar. But like BC Rich, Schecter, ESP (LTD), and others they really hurt their high-end credibility by making tons of $199 guitars with over-the-top or ugly styles.

They've had a couple models that look alright, but the headstocks are some of the worst I've ever seen. I'm sure the higher end models play and sound good, but there are so many great guitars to pick from, why pick one you think is hideous?

I used to have a V - whatever its called. It was a VERY well built guitar.

yeah... I was all hot for one of those Dime/Razor deals... when I went to try it out, it just felt big and odd.

I wouldn't mind finding a "quality" Dime model because I was a huge fan. But for the most part I can do just fine without a Dean guitar. Since I discovered Warmoth, I don't think I'll ever buy another name brand guitar again unless it's some must have model I can't get anywhere else.

I weep for all of the trees that had to die to go into those horrific headstocks

Alright, I'll be the first (and maybe only) one to say I love mine. I have an original 1979 ML with a hardtail and Pearly Gates pups I bought new and this guitar sings.I do know where you guys are coming from though as I have recieved questions and concerns for years gigging with it (Isn't it fun to throw people of they're axis a little  ).I don't even play metal, But it plays great, and sounds great. I have played many of the reissues and have yet to find one that has the mojo mine does. I just don't think they are as good. I might have gotten lucky with mine. Oh well to each his own I suppose. Since I in the minority I like to add slime green guitars (Even a Slime Grn ML) just don't do it for me (Sorry Mailman. I know how you feel about those Charvel's :D) Rock on Rig-Talkers (Even those of us with ugly axes)

i would like to have a water v, but that's about it. kinda gassing for a buddy blaze ml though. does anyone know if they are made in the usa or imported? it looks like an ml raped a nightswan.
