New amp on the bench! It’s a Sound City Energiser Slave Unit 120 with six EL34′s.

This is going to be a one channel amp with two gain controls, bass, middle, treble, volume, presence, punch, volume, a gain switch (3-4 gain stages), a three way saturation switch and a three way bright switch.

I've installed two new preamptubes.

And the front panel got ten new holes.

And as always it will be wired point to point.

And here we have the result:

LOVE IT! All of your builds are awesome but this one is my favorite because I love single channel amps. You and two other builders are the only ones that give me a major Tone Boner.

Yes, the plate voltage is 468V.

Nice to see and hear some great old iron being put to better use. The old tubes got raided years ago but the iron remains. I never cared for Sound City's and now I think of all the chassis's with original iron out there that could become stuff like this.

your mods always sound great!!!! I would personally love to have one!!!

The one amp I regret selling was a Mark Cameron modded Carlsbro Top 100 with those wonderful Partridge transformers.

It's a thing I use in the power supply, and since it has goop on it it's super secret ;) :D
