Soundgarden added Soldano to the mix

That guy from Big Wreck could probably do fine fronting a Soundgarden type thing.

I guess I don't really have a problem with the rest of the band reforming to tour as a tribute/money grab with whatever singer. New music obviously from them wouldn't actually be "Soundgarden" but whatever. Rest of the band needs to eat too I guess.

I say this as an absolutely huge fan of Kotzen. Soundgarden and Kotzen are two of my largest influences musically. His vocal chops and guitar playing abilities probably make him one of the few alive that could take on Chris's role with the gravitas it requires. That being said, I would hate to see Kotzen step in to that role more than just maybe short term or one off shows. It would be a vast departure of his personal musical stylings and would once again paint him as being the "replacement guy" like he was for Poison or Mr. Big. In both of those bands he kept his own voice/style and made great contributions but there will always be that contingency of people who want him to be a carbon copy of CC, or Paul Gilbert or in this case Chris.

I wonder if someone who is more of a different voice, like Taylor (but not Taylor as I don't think she is the best fit) would be a better match for the band. Maybe they could do something like AIC did at first back in the mid 00's and have a bunch of guest singers do a handful of songs each.

That would be an absolute atrocity.

Other than Black Hole Sun, Soundgarden is boring AF IMO. With Taylor they sounded like a band on fire. I had the misfortune of seeing Soundgarden in the 90's because I was offered a free ticket and figured I'd give 'em a fair listen. I couldn't wait to get out of there. For the encore, Cornell came out with an acoustic guitar and played Black Hole Sun by himself. I was so pissed off! LOL

That’s a wildass statement, that album is where Soundgarden stopped being interesting for me. I have no idea who this chick is, she has pipes but no figurative balls, lol. This ain’t for me, but good for her for getting the gig, I guess. Chris is nearly impossible shoes to fill.

I don’t know man, Cornell was never quite the singer live as in the studio, but short of Plant in 70 and Coverdale in 87 I can’t think of many others more on fire than him, especially on those early albums. She’s ok, but picking her over Cornell is like watching Satriani play VH1 all stiff and liking it more than Eddie

i really dont even like most of their "hits", its all the deep cuts that are great. i wouldnt even want to hear black hole sun, outshined or rusty cage if i saw them.

Taylor was damn good. The Pretty Reckless is a damn good band. That song the did with Kim (only love something) is killer.

Dude, you get into some PCP or something ? Black Hole Sun ain't even close to the best song on that album. Mailman might be the best fucking song ever written by anyone, ever. Head Down, Like Suicide, The Day I Tried To Live. And BadMotorFinger fucking kicks ass. Not to mention Burden in My Hand. Fucking Soundgarden was killer as killer gets.

The first Audioslave album kicks ass too. I got a bootleg copy of that album about 6 months before it was released. They were billing themselves as "Civilian" and it only had about 4 songs on it. Killer shit man.
