Soundgarden added Soldano to the mix

The 80's were FUN. The 90's had way too much depressing navel gazing sonic dreck.
Agreed - the 80s rock n roll was about good times and partying. Grunge killed rock n roll and it never recovered. Songs about depressing shit. Then it worse with Numetal bands. I stopped listening to anything new. Meh. Rock killed itself. If you want music to be depressed to, grunge is where it is at.....

Man . From 1967 to 2010 the history evolution of rock and metal is a fun trip and journey . I love ALL of it . Classic rock , hair metal , grunge , nu metal , death metal . Just fun . 2010s YouTube and no mtv stopped the evolution . Big problem is people stopped making SONGS

I'm gonna break my rusty cage...and run

I wouldn't say that but say compared to Jerry's playing in ALC it's not even on the same planet for me.
I don’t disagree, but we aren’t comparing him to Cantrell are we? For someone to call his playing lame, all I can say is let’s see the clip of you that you think is better.

When did I say it was lame? That wasn't me... I said he was the weak link in SoundGarden.

Step backwards how?? I’d guess for every 100 Soundgarden fans maybe 3 know who Kotzen is
I am sure you are probably right on the 3% of Soundgarden fans knowing who Kotzen is, if not overselling it at 3%. It really depends on how you measure success. I imagine if Richie wanted to be more mainstream and chase that "rock & roll dream", he would have done that instead of finding that spot between R&B and R&R thing he has done. I grew up on Soundgarden and love the whole catalog from "Louder Than Love" through "King Animal", but I would not give up a chance at more "Mother Head's Family Reunion" or "Into the Black" or "Go Faster" albums from Richie for more nostalgia driven live shows of Soundgarden playing the hits with Richie fronting them. I love both, but it would be a loss to have less of one to have more of the other in either direction.

While SG/Cornell gets due credit for the vocals I always thought many ignored the crazy ass tunings that dude would come up with. All the more reason Ian Thornley would make for a great match, those dudes were cut from some of the same cloth between the Plant influence and writing bangin’ tunes in fucked up tunings I’d never even think to utilize.

Surprised this hasn’t been posted yet-

Sorry but that's just horrible for me to listen to. He is struggeling to hit the notes. just painful. They should have tuned down.
The audioslave tune earlier was spot on though.

there aren't too many good live performances of SG, but this one still get's me every time:

Reading these strong opinions on soundgarden, as someone who grew up with this stuff locally, is like watching two karens in a Walgreens fight over IcyHot© vs Aspercreme© for their arthritic knees
Honestly, I think the main reason I always have this site up is to read your posts lol 👊🏼
