Speaker Cables

I don't notice much in speaker cables, but I can attest to the fact that when I re-wired inside all of my cabinets with Monster wire, it was like taking a blanket off the front of the cabinet. The difference in sound was/is HUGE! I was skeptical, but now I believe.

It's called "MONSTER XP" Compact High Performance Speaker Cable and claims:

Tighter, deeper bass
Greater Clarity
Better Imaging
Cleaner Highs

I can vouch for everything except the "Better Imaging." Not really sure what the heck that is...

What is the gauge of the wire used inside cabs? I recently opened up my Marshall and was not happy with what I saw. Someone besides the factory was in there before. Overhaul needed ASAP.

Most of the time 14-16, sometimes 12. On that short of a run it is not a big deal unless you are running many more watts than most speakers can handle, including EV's.

Here is all you need, it will save you lots of money, and I have compared and not noticed a difference worth the investment. I notice a lot more difference with a change in string brand.

There is not as much of a difference in speaker cables than from instrument cables.

I think what he was saying is that there is more of a difference in guitar cables, than speaker cables, as far as sound quality. I had to re-read it also.
