Speaking of Gojira

I really like their second album "The Link". It has that raw tribal brutality that reminds me of Sepultura Chaos AD era. It ranks among the great metal classics in my own metal pantheon. They have only gone downhill after that IMHO. More and more bland and boring to my ears !

I haven't picked up any of their stuff yet, but plan to get a few cd's soon. I will check that one out that you mentioned.

I remember buying their first cd a long ass time ago and liking it, after that I just never got into them, they are like Tool for me where I’m just always kind of waiting for the elic part to come, and it never really does. They are a great live band though the few times I saw them

I couldn't get into them until listening to a video of a live show. Now I get it and love them. Was excited to see them live a few years ago but it was canceled as COVID ramped up and I couldn't make it to the rescheduled date.

The earlier the Gojira the better. I tapped out after L’Infant Sausage.
Live, they’re an absolute wrecking ball, one of the best in the business.

i think magma is a fucking masterpiece. some of the songs are (really for lack of better terms) simple...ish on guitar but the way the drummer works with those riffs really sets that shit apart from anything "simple". They do so many cool groove related things on that album.

this sounds kinda douchy, but when i'm lifting weights, i like to put this album on. its just got that slow intensity that works for that...just like intense cardio gets Slaughter of the Soul :ROFLMAO:
