I dig that cd. I remember reading he was using a Bogner XTC during that time?
I saw them in NY state in Poughkeepsie on this tour in 1995.
George had an fx rack that he couldn’t get working properly.
He had an Ecstasy, a Fender Tone-Master, a pre #100 serial Rectifier and a Peavey Classic, the four heads on top of two old Marshall cabs.
Only the Rectifier was (turned on) used all night and he had the worst tone I’ve ever heard from him.
I’ve seen George 8 times live and this was terrible, he knew it too. Most of the night, he was turned around facing his cabinets, tweaking the Mesa, and swearing at his tech about his effects not working.
He was stomping and kicking his midi foot switch, reaching down, turning it on, turning it off, taking a break during the whole verse and chorus of a song and shutting his whole system down and re-powering it. he was so pissed.
Anyways, he played without any effects all night and basically just went through the motions to finish each song.
I saw it all standing 3 feet away from him.
