Awesome !!!!!
Killer amp. I've wanted one since I heard about them back in 07. Really nice tone!

Just grabbed a 2019 QR and am really digging it. This one is a stripped down with no extra switches & such. I had a 2013 drob+ a couple years ago and kind of regretted selling it. I think these amps have a really cool thing going on in the saturation and the articulation/note definition is awesome.

Here's some completely random chug noodles at fairly low volume:

Sounds good Mike!

I've only ever tried a Nitro; it was at a GC a few yrs back. Definitely a steamroller; nice power n push. Pretty dark sounding though, and the high end was kinda flat. But who knows the tube situation, and if the bias was off.

The QR clips I've heard are really nice, yours included. I've always heard the early 3 pre versions are the cats ass. Don't see many for sale though.

Nice clear, aggressive tone. I wonder if you slam it with a boost, how it will add saturation, as it's reasonably dry now?

Sounds great.

Spawns are great amps! Kind of makes me want another QR

Thanks Tom! I am curious how the 3 pre compares.

Those clips are boosted slightly with a Duncan 805. but I also have a 12AT7 in v2 & a 5751 in v1.

I love my Splawns! Nice clips. Badass!

They are great amps. Thanks!

I didn't realize how crappy those clips sound through a laptop :aww: Sounds closer to being in the room with earbuds for sure. I noticed that the volume was neutered too once uploaded to soundcloud.

That is one thing Splawn excells with: articulation.

Yep, that's what I picked up as well. This crunchy articulation. Less 'kerrang' than a Marshall, but also more cohesive. Marshalls can sometimes have that 'my low-end is doing its own thing, wandering around, bumping into things, while the mids and highs kick and scream with a better sense of direction'.

Cool clip Mike, thanks for posting. Nice and tight.

That's a great way to explain things. This amp cannot flub out. Awesome for low tunings, which is where I hang out. Big ass iron helps too :D

Very fast responding and direct. These amps are crunch city for sure...more raw crunch & grit than just about any other amp I've owned/tried.

Thank you sir! The QR is very tight indeed.

I just plugged in the 50CL Pitbull and it's a smoking tight blast to play also.

Very killer man!
Lot my buds on here have the Quickrod. Love em.
I had a nitro when they first came out and didn’t like it.
But been wanting to pick up a quickrod.
