Man, I love to see NAD’s but when it’s a Sheeves I really get excited for the proud new owner. Congrats!!

I never thought I would gig anything but my beloved 5153. Used it from 2007 until about 2016 when I traded my Musicman JP guitar straight up for a new 20th Shiva. I had no intention on keeping it but I just wanted to try out a Bogner, then flip it. Well, I’ve been gigging it weekly ever since. (The EVH sat around and wound up trading it for my dream amp, an SLO, but that’s another story). The Shiva is the perfect gigging amp. It does everything very well, all with that awesome Bogner tone. It does country to metal. I also use it at church as the clean is amazing and the fx loop takes gobs of delay and reverb perfectly achieving that standard P&W tone. I boost the second channel with an EP Booster for the heavier stuff. It really tightens the low end and puts it into Uber territory. In a band setting I keep all the switches out (mid, mode, bright). At lower practice volume I do use the mode switch.

Thank you my friend! I appreciate and share your enthusiasm regarding this amp

I wasn't even looking for this amp and was about to list my Savage 120 for sale here to fund either a KSR Juno or a Diezel Herbert. I came across this amp in the classifieds and thought what the hell because I've always wanted to try a Bogner. In fact, I've almost pulled the trigger numerous times on various Ubers that have come and gone in the classifieds here. The Uber is an amp I've longed to try for probably the last 10 years, but for some reason I just never brought one home.

I have to say I don't know how this 20th would stack up against an Uber, but TBH at this point I don't really care considering what this amp is giving me in terms of all out mayhem. And it does so in such a soulful way! I'm really impressed with the vocal quality of the midrange and the weight and sweetness of the highs. Its also got a great low end that comes through with nice grunt/punch; very authoritative. The other thing I'm learning is that via the mode, boost and shift buttons, it seems to take you easily from a more classic metal tone to all out modern metal territory at least to my ragged old ears.

I have to disclose however that I am goosing the front end with a TS9; not adding any gain with the OD but just using it solely to tighten things up and add the attack I like.

Great, great amp

Yeah, I do, too. I wanted a Shiva for a long time, finally decided to pick this one up about three years ago. I was expecting it to be good, but I had no idea how extremely versatile it is. I think it's almost unfair to call it a Shiva if only because it's so much more than just a refinement of the original. I have three Bogners now (20th Shiva, XTC, Green Uberschall), but no matter how great they are all, this is the one I keep coming back to. When I hear about a new 20th Shiva owner, I'm excited because I know someone else is getting ready to discover how truly amazing this amp is.

        I haven't even dove into what else this amp can do outside of metal hahahaha! I did poke around the clean ch last night for about 5 minutes and did notice it is quite a nice clean tone; even with the Painkiller bridge it sounded quite good.

I can only assume that the amp may even sound better than it already does as the tubes burn in a little :dunno: This thing still has that new amp smell lol!
