Congratz!! It's a sick amp - small little box that goes nuclear. Beautiful amp - ENJOY!!!!!

:cheers2: :cheers2: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk:

Hell yeah my man    This amp definitely roars! Especially once the ch and volume knobs are up at noon and above at which point the house is stirring on its foundation. My wife told me that the entire house was vibrating last night

Nice man! I saw one at the local shop recently but didnt get a chance to mess with it. Curious like a mofo.

Very low mid based voicing with lots of attitude. Can get real mean. I ran out of time tonight, but I started playing it with boost mode disengaged and might have been on to something. That seemed to yield slightly more articulation for the faster stuff.

If ya get a chance check one out!

Fuckin right brother!
It’s not always trying to trade even up. It’s about killing the gas!!
Sometimes it’s easier to trade (even if I slightly up or down)
Then to sell.. wait.... wait...
Or just say ‘what the fuck.... let’s do this! ‘
Glad IT worked out. Remember. End of the day....

It’s all just metal.... wood... And plastic. ;)

Now THAT's the way to do it!! The 20th Sheeves is a flat-out beast... so glad you're enjoying it!!

Hahahah!! Yeah I had that bad boy CRANKED :D  :D I seriously was starting to worry I was gonna crack the drywall lol! Man when this amp gets loud, the snarl real lets loose!

Congrats! I think the metal grill is great on these. Wish there were more out there. This is an amp I’ve wanted to try.

Thanks my man!

Yeah I have to admit I usually don't fuss over amp aesthetics too much, but the metal grill does this one justice.

So I swapped the Sovtek 6550 WEs back in and found that they just didn't sound as good in this amp to my ears nor did they feel as good as the KT88s. The 6550s were more compressed yet stiffer some how  and they seemed to remove some of the low mids that the KT88s seem to accentuate. I think these Ruby KT88 VSTRs shine in this amp.

I also swapped some of the Chinese 12Ax7Bs in v1 and v2 for JJ and much prefered the Chinese. The jj ecc83s were a bit dull on the high end I felt; not as articulate on the lows either. I really want to try a tungsol in v1 and a TAD 7025.

Anybody run there Shiva 20th with either of the later preamp tubes?

Not I, sorry. I just never found anything in my current collection of tubes that sounded better than the stock tubes. I'm supposed to be getting some Gold Lion 12AX7s tomorrow. Those might be worth a shot (I've never tried them before in anything, so the Shiva's as good a place to start as any). I've got some Tung Sols laying around, too. So, maybe I'll revisit that one, too.

I definitely agree about the KT88 vs 6550s. To me, the KT88s just seem bigger, less compressed, less stiff, more like an overgrown 6L6 with a little EL34 added. This is the first amp that's used either 6650 or KT88 that I really like them in. Otherwise, I'd be looking for some KT77 or KT66 to swap in, or maybe a 6CA7. (I seem to be on a kink-less tetrode kick lately...that sounds dirty, doesn't it?? Don't have to be kinky to be dirty... LOL! I digress.) Seriously, I just don't think any of them would sound better than the KT88s.

Kink-less tetrode kick.....sounds like some some weird alien bondage porno stuff right there hahaha.

I might order up a tungsol, a TAD 7025 (Remember really liking what that tube did for my Savage) and I'll take a look at the GL. I've thought about maybe trying the Gold Lion KT88s in this amp down the road. Might try the JJ 6550 I have in my D60 in the Shiva just for the heck of it, just be curious how different they are in that amp compared to the Sovtek. Be curious to hear the KT88 in the D60 as well.

With the KT88 in there, the Shiva has the thickest, snarliest low mids I've ever heard. Its even meaner sounding than the Fireball 100 I had, and that had some serious low mid growl going on.

At home sick today was playing around with your clip ;)

 Timing was a little off, but that was cool as hell  I've been telling myself for years that I'm gonna get the necessary software ,or whatever the hell a guy would use, to add drums and bass to my tracks. I'm just not into techy stuff and always just say fuck it. Maybe I can just have you do it lol.

Man, I've been playing this Bogner non stop the last few days and this thing just flat out fuckin rips for all things metal. Thrash, death, modern....you name it...it delivers the goods. With the modern, bright and shift buttons you can get all kinds of metal tones from this box. I think you'd really dig this amp man. It can get ultra mean and pissed off sounding.

Congrats! I've almost bought one of these like 4 times....killer amp. Winged C 6550 are great but if you find some GEs those are even better IMO. I have a 2203 that came with 4 closely matched GEs and they kill.
Side note...you should see if that amp will take KT 90s. They are closer to an EL34 than a KT88 in the mids but have the KT88 bottom. Same family as the 88. I have a pair that i used to put in a D60 and they were better than 6550s or 88s to my ears. Call Bogner and find out if the current draw is safe for that amp, if interested.

Thanks man! Its a fun amp for sure; I'm really digging it. Its hanging with the D60 and the KSR in terms of bringing the heavy no problems whatsoever.

Man that's a lot of tube info right there, thanks! KT90s huh, I'll have to do some research.

Thanks!

Its a hell of an amp, and I'm just getting to know her ;)

Man, I love to see NAD’s but when it’s a Sheeves I really get excited for the proud new owner. Congrats!!

I never thought I would gig anything but my beloved 5153. Used it from 2007 until about 2016 when I traded my Musicman JP guitar straight up for a new 20th Shiva. I had no intention on keeping it but I just wanted to try out a Bogner, then flip it. Well, I’ve been gigging it weekly ever since. (The EVH sat around and wound up trading it for my dream amp, an SLO, but that’s another story). The Shiva is the perfect gigging amp. It does everything very well, all with that awesome Bogner tone. It does country to metal. I also use it at church as the clean is amazing and the fx loop takes gobs of delay and reverb perfectly achieving that standard P&W tone. I boost the second channel with an EP Booster for the heavier stuff. It really tightens the low end and puts it into Uber territory. In a band setting I keep all the switches out (mid, mode, bright). At lower practice volume I do use the mode switch.

Yeah, I do, too. I wanted a Shiva for a long time, finally decided to pick this one up about three years ago. I was expecting it to be good, but I had no idea how extremely versatile it is. I think it's almost unfair to call it a Shiva if only because it's so much more than just a refinement of the original. I have three Bogners now (20th Shiva, XTC, Green Uberschall), but no matter how great they are all, this is the one I keep coming back to. When I hear about a new 20th Shiva owner, I'm excited because I know someone else is getting ready to discover how truly amazing this amp is.
