Splawn Quickrod vs EVH 5150iii 50 watt

I have both and love both. I tend to use the evh50w far more because it's half the weight and almost half the size.. easier to take to gigs and band practices.

I modded my evh50w to make the channels more even

I read about that mod, but everyone said it increases the gain on the clean channel, which already isn't clean.

Thanks....I just got it...It is the first one in circulation with the new options....There is a mid cut switch which is very cool...It kinda changes the mids more towards a Marshall...And there is a old/new switch which changes the vibe to the older 2006 Quick Rods....Another very cool option....And i got the b+ switch to switch back and forth to the high voltage and B+....Anp has some changes under the hood also....Some added gain and all....I have owned a few QR's and this one is the best i heard

Ya it sounds killer indeed Rian The old/new is very cool.....The mid cut is my favorite....Love the way it changes the mids...He added more gain for sure....Really liking it....I got the cab loaded with Creambacks...They sound really good

it makes it a little more dirty but not too bad.. it works fine for my purposes atleast.. I just put on the green channel and roll back the volume and/or lessen my pick attack on the strings..

Hey Man! That's awesome. I've had my Pro Stock B+ (new) since Dec. 2014. I emailed Scott and he said he could add these options to my PSB+, but before I went down that road, I wanted to see if you had more details on this. Perhaps in a PM or start another thread?

Also, when was the last time you had a Quickrod? I heard more gain and saturation was added to the 2012's on up.
