I've used Governors/Manowars, Small Blocks, V30s, and not too long ago switched to some H75 Creambacks. I'm finding I like the Creambacks the best, but the amp truly sounds good through most any cab

Yup. Scott told me that the M65 is everything he wanted in a speaker for the Quick Rod. That's what I have in my Splawn 2x12's.Fret-Shredder":9vppnre7 said:Mr. Willy":9vppnre7 said:“Creamback” is being mentioned a lot without differentiating between the H75 and he M65. They sound different.
Scott recommended the M65 Creambacks in the Splawn 2X12 I want to get.

Here’s a greenback vs creambacks comparison both sound good to me
I pulled the trigger and ordered a 2018 fully loaded Quickrod. Im counting the days till it arrives!!! I already own a MESA 2X12 with VINTAGE 30s but really want to get the SPLAWN 2X12 with Creambacks because it seems that the Creambacks are highly recommended and match well with the Quickrod. My question is do you think Im going to notice that huge of a difference by NOT having Creambacks and will be missing out on something special tone wise? Thanks guys.
I tried Creambacks and didn't care for them. So I would say no your not going to be missing anything.I went back to what I found to sound the best in my Splawn 2x12 which is a Splawn small block with an Eminence Governor. You may want to try swapping one of your Vintage 30's for a Greenback.
It was a an M. I thought it took away some of the snarl from the amp. It wasn't bad sounding, I just felt like something was missing.Which Creambacks: M, H, both? And what didn’t you like about them?
came across this thread and wondered where the OP landed on speakers for the FLQR?
Greenbacks in the 2x12 in my hard to see Avatar , nice and broken in they sound killer. I bought a budget 1x12 cab with a G12H30 to use with my Super Sport mini head and to my surprise it sounds great to my ears and the speaker still could use some break in time
Ha, good to see you. Have not seen you around in a bit. This new forum format makes your avatar look like a Weber grill - which is cool in my book because I cook on Weber's all the time.
Speaking of avatars, I had an Avatar 212 cab before my Splawn cab and I had it loaded with a G12H30 and a Classic Lead 80. Needless to say I always mic'd the H30 side.
I have....Had a 4x12 with them, and a 2x12 with them.Who has tried the Small Blocks?
