I havent had any noise issues yet, its actually quieter than some of my other Marshalls. Been happy with mine so far, its not the best sounding Marshall I have but it sounds real good, and so far its been solid. I find myself jumping around a bit as far as which channel I like the most. It depends on how loud I need to get. I hope it never breaks, my eyes glaze over when I look inside that thing

Picked one up recently, awesome amp, love the crunch channel and OD1. However it's a noisy amp, the noise gate tames it a bit, but without it there's always this big hiss, anyway to tame it other than a noisegate?

Better preamp tubes. Seriously...

I've got TungSOL's (new, not NOS) and it tamed it quite a lot over the GT 12AX7C's I bought previously, though, the stock tubes (also chinese 12ax7's) were fine in the noise department.

I'll try that out, I think right now its still the stock tubes, there is only noise on the OD1/OD2 channels, and I have the gain at like 9:00 on OD1

That was my experience with it also. Very noisy in the high gain modes

Mine is no more noisy than my Blackmore or 2205. It is about the same noise level as any high gain amp I have ever had but it has way more gain than any of them!

This amp has a fuckload of gain on tap! I'm still getting the hang of finding a balance between all 3 modes for each channel

Mine as well with 2+ year old tubes, low noise levels.

Love mine. 2 years worth of gigs, rehearsals and studio work. Not a problem 'cept a blown tube. No noise issue on either of mine. Never thought I'd go back to Marshall but did, and have never been this happy with my live tone. Great amps.
