NAD. The JVM sucks? Clip added LOL..

Thanks a lot man, you are a kick ass player with discerning ears from I have gathered so I really appreciate the nice words. I remember an old Mob Rules clip you did way back. probably HCAF days iirc. Thanks again. and yes. the JVM has way too much gain. od 1 never goes past 10 or 11 and OD 2Red gain is almost off with channel volume dimed. that's is the sound in this clip. Amp turns to mush with gain much higher.. to my ears anyway Crunch channels need some tighter gain and a bit more of it. OD channels need way less gain with more gradual taper. Thx again.. cheers..
Sure thing, nice to hear you tearing it up. Recording is fun and sometimes frustrating. HCAF was when first getting into computers and recording. Learning, trying things and posting stuff. Recording sure has come a long way. Glad to see you jumping in.

I recently got a JVM410 and have been enjoying the fuck out of it. For the money and the features it has for the various tones you can get out of it, it’s an incredible deal in my book. I’ve owned many amps and this one impresses me every time I turn it on. It’s exactly what I wanted, a more modern, tighter, more aggressive sounding modded type high gain Marshall. The cleans are also really good.

Could not agree more...I bought one earlier this year and posted a long winded review. My thoughts on the amp have not changed. I bought a mint condition 2023 model cheap. Best value for an amp that I have experienced in many years.

I borrowed one for gig years ago and couldn’t get past how noisy it was

I have never had mine tuned up much past shouting volume and I don't gig with it...I may have just gotten a "good" one, but at reasonable volumes I don't find it to be all that noisy for a high gain amp.

I felt the same way as well. The JVM is cool amp, but it really needs a gate, which makes sense why they added one for the Satriani JVM. There is also a certain amount of compression that is hard to dial out or unhear once you compare it to another Marshall.
