Besides mod the hell out of it! I hear that this is a pretty good module stock.

My recommendation would be to spend a month with it and see if you like it. If not then get it modded. If the mods aren't done by Jaded Faith, Salvation, or Gigmods they tend to lose their value substantially.

I have two Grails...they sound phenomenal as stock modules, however mine got modded...LOL 
1. The only module I felt like increasing the value of c3 in....it's 500pF stock, so I put a 1000uF Orange Drop in.
2. Pete modded one into an Orange/Red channel mod plus tightened up the power supply section and the usual clarity mods.

I am very interested in the Orange switch mod. I saw some vids and the tone sounded really close to what I remember my Tverb sounding like. I am going to rock it stock for a couple weeks and more than likely I will send it out for this mod.
What does increasing the value on the C3 do to this module?

What does increasing the value on the C3 do to this module?
As it does on all modules, it changes the amount of low end signal going into the gain. Higher value = more low end ("looser"), Lower value = ("tighter")
The 500pF is tight as anything and coupled with the voicing on the Grail, felt it just needed a bit more umph.

I can't imagine 500pf as a coupling cap being good.
"0" on the Egnater Modules is 1000pf, and that's SUPER tight to me ears. I feel like anything under that would just lose all balls and sound like a razorblade.

I good things about this module stock so I will see I guess.
