Yeah I love D'Addario's. Leaning towards the 11-56 NYXL set. Says it's optimised for D standard tuning, so the heavy 6th string is good for dropping to C I would imagine.

Just put those on my Ibanez SZ, which is also tuned to Drop C, this past weekend. My only gripe is the tension on the G (F) string, it's still a bit too loose for me but I think that has more to do with the particular guitar and it's lack of tension all around. It plays like a dream, just need to get more tension on that G-string.

I really, REALLY dig the NYXL's. I think it's the first set of strings that had me changing the way I set my amp because of the tonal difference. The spectrum is definitely broader and they've got that killer snap to them. Seems I can get a good 2 weeks out of these with daily playing before they're DONE, as where most other strings I get about a week. Tonally they start losing it about 7 days in, but they still at least feel alright to play. They've allowed me to enjoy recording clean guitars!

I Use Dean Markley Blue Steel 11-52 & if your guitar is set up properly, it's not too flappy at all. Played in Drop C for 5 Years with this metal band I was in.

Man, I may have to branch out after visiting this thread.

I have literally used GHS my entire life. I tried some Slinkies when GHS were out of stock and did not like them at all but those NYXL's seem pretty awesome.

Will definitely buy a set for my next string purchase.

They're worth trying out at least. Great strings IMO.

I've been using these. I'm digging them so far.
