ZEN Amps

Steve Clark-esque fun that is.

Not an actual Marshall - this is 2203 mode on our prototype amp.

Gil Yaron LP - Zen amp - G12M pulsonic 75Hz - SM57/E906 blend. Double tracked / hard panned.

A little more aggressive than the original recording, I suspect they used G12 65's - the tone is quite rounded.

(was linked in another thread, but that thread's dead baby, thread's dead).

Hopefully you can tell us more about this amp soon mate!

Between you and Jase, there's some killer stuff going on down under (.. talking about the country, not my pants,.. but yeah, that too, what)
Woah tiger, easy.

Lots to do still, but we're getting there. Parts shortages and supplier backorders haven't been much fun but good things take time I guess!

Hey. You cant do this to us. My palm mutes are begging to be unleashed through this amp. NEED, man. You dig?

Nice to see Steamin Steve getting some love.

Had Steve lived, I wonder what gear he'd be playing these days. I just don't see that guy with a Kemper or Fractal.

Not knockin’ our other friendly Aussie builder and I get that his amp is pretty feature rich and high quality but any chance this amp will be in the range of mere mortals, money wise when done? If the new standard is 3K plus U.S. for non-mass produced amps, then I’m never going to be able to justify these bad boys ever. For me these days it’s got to be used or Asian made.

Love Steve. Besides the alcohol I'm not sure his back would have held out - hanging a LP that low for years must do things to a man.

Not really, no. We're going high end on everything, and with prices of many components up 100-200% these last few years the cost of materials alone will be more than any mass-produced, low to medium quality amp around.

No sweat, I better start working on my Indonesian and Mandarin. I like to negotiate in person…lol

Vietnamese could come in handy too! Sad that a lot of formerly great amp companies are aiming for the bottom these days.

Myself and many players I know have always been more than happy to pay extra for quality equipment - maybe we're a dying breed. Besides quality there's a certain unsavoury feeling about equipment made by folks getting paid less than $20 a day, but that's a whole other thread.

That’s great to hear.(no pun).
Numbers do not have feelings.
Tone does apparently…maybe this juggernaut will
get dude’s to dig DEEP?
Change is the only constant,
nothing ever gets cheaper.
My problem Zen?
“If trouble was money…I’d be a trillionaire”..
I’m gonna go wrestle that into some heavy metal crunch for breakfast.

Double the price then start out with an introductory half off mega sale for the product launch. Problem solved and you’ll look like a hero. We can discuss my business consultation fee in a PM

Just give us the bottom line when the time comes ------------------- but the amp better be good !

Sounds great man

Looking forward to hearing more.

How would this amp (as I'm hearing it) handle drop tuned (C or B) heavy chugging?

We're utter tone snobs so no stone left unturned to get this thing to where we want!

It's going to have a lot of options, so there will be ample opportunity to chug. We're A/B-ing every step of its evolution against our favourite amps to ensure it can cop those familiar tones, and also offer something unique.

Really exciting project, but really, really slow. Heyboer kept us waiting for 6 months with no movement. When reminded of the order, their response was pretty much 'yeah sorry, what did you want again?'. Sigh.
