Sweetwater “pending price increases” email

Y'all love to talk politics, but I want to talk GEAR. Should we be expecting this across the board with other sites? Anyone with any insider info have a rough idea what percentage increases we will see? I have a sinking suspicion this will be a permanent price adjustment as well.

That’s exactly my point... if you really believe 600,000 people died from a “novel” virus ( coronavirus’s aren’t new as a whole by the way) then that’s on you. But I can understand how the common public can believe such asinine garage like that after what I’ve witnessed the last year. Never, ever, in my 15 years in healthcare, or in my years teaching healthcare at the college level, have I ever seen such brainwashing and just pure BS. I could talk for hours about this last year and what I’ve seen in hospitals and in the field, but that’s for another day. The US MEDIA made this a culture war, not the people.

I gather being a medical person you've been following the pandemic coverage from other countries and not just the US, right?

Funny how Spain, France, Taiwan, Germany, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and so many other countries had no major stories
of people fighting restrictions, or storming official buildings bitching about FREEDOM!

I don't put all my stock into US news - It's too polarized.
Covid has been a global story so it's been super easy to read about things all over and to balance US coverage against.

You being medical, it's weird that you do not seem to understand the difference between what a coronavirus is in general
and what a novel virus is.

Last novel virus was influenza - also not the first time we'd seen influenza, just not that new (H1N1) strain of it.

I got the email and a text. I did go ahead and get a good price for an SPL Marc One and Beyerdynamics DT1990 headphones.
I had been on the fence for a while for several things and decided on those. The SPL Marc One is a cool piece of gear, love it.
 
It's ultimately about getting us to spend money now, right? There may be some truth to it sure, but it's not even mostly about helping us out by giving us a heads up. Wasn't it also sweetwater who had a sales rep or two or more who also wanted to do us a "favor" by giving us a heads up about the looming panic buying of EVH gear after Van Halen died?

I've only ever had good experiences with Sweetwater, but this has grain of salt written all over it.

I'd bet that Sweetwater, being so huge, sets a bit of a benchmark for the smaller US sites
and the similar sites in other countries.

I think other's will start announcing it too very soon.

I’m quite aware of what a novel virus is. I made the point I made because you are another person brainwashed by the media to think that, since it’s “novel”, that this rationalizes how we deal with this. You didn’t work through the bird flu, or Ebola, or any of the other pandemics or could be pandemics like I and others did, and those experiences are exactly why I and many others like me feel the way we do... I also am not worried in the least about what other countries are or aren’t doing or what media stories they have coming out of there as well... maybe you should follow suite on that as well, because comparing situations, especially based on handpicked and spun media coverage, is not going to get you anywhere or a real viewpoint on anything.

I also didn’t see anyone else burning down cities for free Gucci bags in those other countries as well, just so we are being clear...

But you know what I did see and hear about personally from family? 1500 dollar tickets from police to Australians who were caught outside during certain times in the pandemic.... so be my guest, you like those other counties better or think they handle things better? You are always free to leave :)

Unless it’s about trump, like this forum did for the last 4 years, then it’s ok to have nonstop fuckery and whining. But as soon as the the president inept got put in this year, he’s off limits, just like he is for the media. Typical.
