Swiss army amp?

IF you were downsizing and wanted a swiss army amp (one amp for every tone) from jazz, country, to rock/metal. What lower wattage amp would you consider? I know one amp can't nail every tone but i'm just saying to get into the ballpark for at home fun/jam time. I'm not interested in axefx etc...i dont want complicated tech stuff ...ha
Mesa mark 5:25?
or maybe a good clean channel amp and use as pedal platform?

I'm just thinking of different options at this point.....not serious about it yet

I would get a fryette sig x. they can do everything and can also drop down to 40 watts.

Even a Deliverance, in less mode cleans up so well with the guitars volume. Great with pedals too.

Or is it ok if it's a single-channel amp that requires knob twisting and switching stuff around to get a new sound? I know plenty of single channel amps that can cover any ground you want, but you need to re-EQ them and whatnot.

single channel would be fine as long as the cleans are good. I don't live in an area that is good for trying out gear so I have to research things online to death and ask opinions...local stores are not too good...stinks but that's the way it is. ha

If you want something lower wattage, I would recommend the Dr Z Remedy. It is a plexi based design. It will give you a great crunch sound and with a boost pedal take you in to high gain.

I have a Dr Z SRZ 65 and it is one of the best amps I have ever owned. I have had 5 different Mesa Mark series amps, JCM's, H&K, Carvin, Ceriatone, still have a 5150 and Shiva

The Dr Z is so pure, touch sensitive, and the gain is not compressed and still sounds creamy. With backing off the volume on the guitar, I can get a great clean tone. With a Maxon OD 820 Pro boost I get a great high gain lead tone.

I am also using an attenuator with a line out signal going to my time based effects than to a Carvin power amp feeding a second cab for my wet tone.

I might get a third cab and run my rig W/D/W

4-channels that cover everything from ultra-clean to brutal gain plus a host of connection options. It's not low-wattage like you mentioned, but the 100W gives it all the headroom you would ever need. It sounds great at "bedroom" volumes and has enough volume to sterilize small woodland creatures. As a bonus, they don't get a lot of press, so they can be had for reasonable prices...

It's not a small head but Smallbox or a Einstein. I really wish Bogner would do a mini 20 watt XTC or Shiva.

Bogner Goldfinger 45 is very versatile. Good drive sounds up to 80s rock and has the amazing clean pedal platform going for it too. Mesa Electra Dyne or Lonestar would be great with some pedals.

H&K Grandmeister 36 is versatile.

My favorite amp ever. Wish I hadn't sold mine to get a Helix (great amp just not capable of everything the 20th does).

Playing a 101b, but SO miss the 20th A model.

Just got done playing my Mark V:25 and couldn't imagine a better choice, especially for the money.
