I would rather use the Marshall SC20 and its low input, or an Origin 50 for more headroom or just a Deluxe Reverb with a celestion installed. The SC20 would have a loop but if the amp is clean and your dirt is before your time based and modulation FX, does a loop even matter when the amp is clean.

This is a good argument, and there is definitely one to be had.

I say, yes, effects sound different whether they are in front or in the loop, even if you primarily play cleans. It has to do with the way the pedals are affected by the input tube and how that sounds down the line.

Even in just clean, I tend to prefer chorus in front as opposed to the loop. Is it large enough of a difference though? Probably not, so I agree with ya half way.

The geniuses in marketing pulled the power consumption rating off the IEC outlet.

Just read the article. I kind of hate every single thing about that amp, lol.

Also, serious question. It seems like the “Synner” amp is built like it wants to be sold at Spencer Gifts, and is aimed squarely at Mall Goths. I thought that whole movement was over though. Am I wrong? Are dudes still running around in JNCO jeans with dyed black hair that’s been swooped over one eye, moping around about how nobody else understands their pain?

I do not see who this appeals to. Someone who wants a 22 watt head and 1x12 cab, with no overdrive, that only uses pedals or rack gear for distortion? Maybe I am just not getting it...

There are plenty of TGP tan pants guys like that. In Nashville, there are a ton of guys like that too. They're typically country dudes with amps the size of a shoe box and pedalboards the size of a surfboard. And I mean that's fine if they want their gear like that, but that is the kind of demographic that would be interested in a 22 watt pedal platform amp.

The problem is that as far as their amps go, every single one of those guys go for the vintage Fender, vintage Marshall, or vintage Vox aesthetic. Approximately zero of those guys are going to want an all-white tolex "SYNNER" brand amp that looks like it was designed for teen goths who say things like "foolish mortal" in between spoonfuls of dip-n-dots. I dunno, maybe it was designed for that crowd to plug their laptops into so they could have something to amplify their plugins?

Either way, besides all that, the whole thing seems like a scam. Like on the surface, it reads like the guy wanted to make an actual amp but was told a high gain tube amp would be expensive to develop, so the dude just thought "ah fuck that let's just make some bullshit clean circuit that's easy and, uh, we'll just call it a 'pedal platform' or something. I bet they'll go for that." And aside from the fact that if you hear any mention of crypto in pretty much any context, you can basically guarantee you're about to get scammed, I have no idea how "blockchain" is supposed to make anything about guitar amps better. They already invented this thing called "serial numbers" after all.

Hahaha I wouldn’t think anyone here would be interested in this at all-

A- It’s related to Avenged Sevenfold
B- Synyster or however he spells it is an AxeFX dude now
C- A + B

My hunch is that it’s aimed at people like me who dig modeling but still want tubes pushing a speaker. Since the majority of guitarist don’t gig and it’s this Synner company’s first amp, the lower wattage makes sense to test the waters with.

As for the blockchain shit, A7X is all into that shit. I’ve never had any interest in the crypto world so I’ve never cared to learn more about any of it.

If they dropped a 100-watt version I’d be interested in checking it out. I’ll probably end up with a Fryette PowerStation for this purpose, but the only reason I’m not using 100% amp modeling live is because the lack of a tube power section pushing actual guitar speakers.

I am basically this guy now. I use mostly combo amps and boosts, and don't play high gain much. Is this amp going to a GC because I will 100% go play it and report back. Why 6v6? Why a 3 stage preamp but no distortion just because? The speaker choice....why? I am going to edit:

2 9/18 volt inputs. Why not 9? A simple box out from the amp to a 9v/18v output for pedals could be a game changer. If this is to be a true pedal platform option...bring it as such.
