Is it? I've seen Lynch blow an entire show. I;m not a huge AX7 fan by any stretch. I appreciate it for what it is though. Every generation has their guitar heroes. As far as makeup and looking like fags... I think our 80s music ruled that one...

And has anyone noticed that since Avenged has gotten more exposure, bands that have guitar players that can solo are letting them solo? Bringing guitar back to the forefront isnt a bad thing.

Personally I'd rather see Guthrie or Greg Howe get the push or even someone like the guy from All That Remains....but as we all know, those haircuts from Avenged will sell a hundred magazines to one of a cover with any fusion player. So what if they look like Adam Lambert.

now, that soloing cool again, it gets picked on because of the style of music?

personally, i dont care for most of that bands music either, but theres some tasty guitar stuff going on there...some of which, i do like.

i've seen EVERY guitar player that emerged in the 80's fuck something up that was played in the studio, btw, at one point or another.

including Vai.

yeah but Avenged Seven Fold know how to craft actual songs that people like, other than a guitar wank fest!

and guys like Dimartini and Lynch etc. are just as light weight as the guys from AX7..take them out of the solo over one key realm and they are no more impressive than any other rock guy with chops.. there good players that get allot of love around here but never reached the upper tear of rock guitar like Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, etc..
