I have been interested in these pedals for a long time. Never seen one for sale or available. Forgot about it until there was one for sale in the members classifieds. Some one beat me to it. Can any one tell more about this pedal?

Thanks,

-Jo

Do a Keeley Baked mod, make sure you use ample sized caps to help take out the shrillness and any midhump, then use two 1N914As in series with an LED in parallel for the clipping. It should get you pretty much what the Bloody Murder OD is in its most basic form.

Its a nice TS type without the midhump. Joe sent me three different chips to use with mine. It was more modern sounding than a TS.

Joe took in one of my friend's pedals for a modded and never returned it to him... I wouldn't support him or even the flipping of his product in any way.

Joe is out of business. I think the OP is looking at a used one. Forget about getting new. There are a few stories. He almost died and his life went in a bad way. No excuses for taking pedals. Before that he was great.

I read some about the situations with the pedals, and his circumstances. Sorry to read about it. Just have always been intrigued about this pedal.

I always wanted to try one. Had a line on one locally a year or so ago but decided not to snag it.

I've got one of his rack mount bloody murders. It can do all the things a TS can and then some. I like it because it is more aggressive than a typical TS. When you want it to be anyway. I've also got a couple pedals that he modded for me, a TS9 and an MT2. They're good pedals. It's a shame things turned out the way they did with him.

I mainly just use them for boosts fwiw.

i've heard that the Dead Horse pedal sounds very similar to the bloody murder. anyone know if that is true?

I'm acquiring one of the Dead Horse pedals in due time. Definitely want to check out the BLoody Murder though.

LolzGreg, I completely understand, and respect your perspective. Sorry to hear about your friend. That sucks.

From what I remember they were all just BYOC overdrive kits. Build a BYOC 808 kit and youll have the same basic thing. He probably did the usual "expensive tube screamer" mods to the circuit.

Nearly every overdrive is based off of what the BYOC kit offers. On my particular one, he used the circuit board from http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/. I already stated the main mods he does, so anyone here can now build their own if they know how to use a soldering iron.

There is actually quite a bit of variety in overdrive circuits and not everything with an IC is a tube screamer.
