testing a 1987 Charvel Model 2 - Skid Row - I Remember You

scored this 1987 Charvel Model 2 in mint condition, plays like butter!! quick test playing one of my favorite solos by Scotti Hill!
 
Nice! I have owned a couple of those Model 2's over the years. The terms always seem to get pitted out and nasty but great playing guitars.

I got the same one, mine has an original Floyd. Looks like yours has a Schaller.

Back in 1988' i got a MIJ 3DR.

The MIJ Charvels were the shit, went downhill after that.

I had that one. It was my first real guitar. Didn't realize how much I love it until my college roommate broke the neck.
 




I recently installed a Big Brass Block on my Floyd.

Worthy upgrade, makes a dif.
 
Yeah, these came with the JT6 trem which isn´t the most durable of units and can have issues after 30 years, but a well-kept one should be perfectly fine. The white one in the video has that original JT6, by the way, not a Schaller.

yep it's a JT6, stays in tune better than some of my other guitars with Floyds!

My 3DR had a JT-6.

Wasn't the JT-6 made by Schaller ?

No, the JT6 was manufactured in Asia somewhere. The JT590 they went to around 1990 is a rebranded Schaller, though.
 
I've had a handful of M2's over the years. One of the best guitars I've played. I especially like the white ones. :)

It's going to be my Andreas Kisser tribute guitar.
