Okay, but so what ? Just because gas is cheaper here than in Europe we should happily pay an extra dollar a gallon over what it was 3 years ago ?

While there are certainly political factors to why gas is more now than 3 years ago, you should also consider that everything is more expensive than 3 years ago, by almost 15%.

Interesting. So the high gas prices have less to do with the change in import/exporting of oil than I was once led to believe.
