You Got Another Thing Coming was an obvious shot at a single.
Sure worked for them but it should have been left off the album imo.
Sounds really out of place. Maybe cause FM played it a zillion times.

Judas Priest was my first “favourite band” and concert. They will always hold a special place in my heart. Unleashed in the East in particular being the best collection of songs, imho

You need an angus young thread , his lead playing 77-79 was shredding. Riff Raff is so hard of a solo with the rig he has ,such a clean clean lead tone

You know even if you don't like Judas Priest , how can you not love a band that's got everything going on !! Loud Metal, flames , motorcycles, screaming , studded clothing . Total metal train wreck !!!!

Victim of Changes is a top 5 Heavy Metal song of all time. My first exposure to Priest was the Killing Machine album (what it was called in Australia). Delivering the Goods set the tone for what would become one of my favorite bands. Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver. Love that shit.

Priest, Maiden and early Metallica is about as heavy as I like it . I'm not a fan of real thrash or grunge at all . Late 70's hard rock & metal is my favorite stuff. Some 80's stuff but the 90's , no .

Halford imo, is the greatest metal singer of all time.

First time I heard JP, I was in the backseat of my friend's 4-door Ford Maverick overloaded with too many people when he put Stained Class in the cassette player.

Sounded very new and different from everything I was used to hearing at the time: Deep Purple, Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Kiss, Zep, etc., then discovered Iron Maiden.

I saw JP and IM on a few tours they did together. I remember Sabbath (Dio) and Blue Oyster Cult did a couple of tours together called "black & blue" which I saw live too.

The tones on this album are perfect in my opinion.

I remember reading an article with Glenn Tipton and he said they both used 4 hole Marshall’s with a treble booster out front, plugged into the bassier channel.

Sounds like a badass modded Marshall to me. Just goes to show,
More than one way to skin a cat!
Yeah that sounds great. I’ll have to try this myself. I’ve got a real RM, but I only tried it into my 1972 SuperLead 100 in the brighter input with the channels jumpered and that gives me a tone that reminded me more of Blackmore or the scorpions, but I can totally see how if used in the bassier input getting a sound like that

Priest was my favorite growing up and learning to play. I can still play everything they did , up till seeing Rob Halford leading the gay parade. Back then that was a major shock. Nowadays not so much. Victim of Changes and The Ripper were a couple favorites to play.

They get such a unique tone around Stained Class. Heavy but not bright. Rounded top end, dare I say soft, but still rocks and has definition. I would say one of the most unique sounds I’ve heard on a hard rock/ metal album.
