The 1 amp that you never should have sold...

My first VH4, for an AxeFX. Worst guitar-related trade-off decision I ever made.

My MK50h that I bought in 2008...
My Mk50h II that I bought in 2011...

Thankfully I have an awesome MK50h now :D

71 Superlead that I financed on a whim from GC for $1000 flat about 8 years ago. Sold it soon after because I realized, even financing it, I was in no shape to be spending that kind of money. Sold it for a slight profit but always wish I had just held on to it.

Early 80's JCM 800 2204. Hated that amp when I owned it. Never should have sold it. Replaced it but this one just isn't the same. Nothing great about them IMHO but they are just a must have amp.

I still have the first real amp I ever bought. An 81 jcm800 2204. Bought it new. It looks like its been hit by a truck now. I can't tell you how many hours or gigs that amp has on it. It still sounds like no other 800 I've ever heard. I did sell the first real guitar I ever bought. 82 black gibson flying v. I loved that thing. Sold it to buy the band some PA equipment.....

Hughes & Kettner Triamp MK1. The model before they got all gay with the lights.

Had one in the early 2000s. It was a BEAST! Weighed 96# in the road case I had made for it (no wonder my back is shot!!!). It was my first "boutique" amp and I should have kept it. Sold it because II thought I was going to quit playing live and it was overkill for my basement. Cleans were the best I've ever had (and I've had Bogners, Fenders and other great amps with great cleans). OD channels not as special as the clean channel though. Channel 1A gained-up to the "hairy" point was AWESOME.

But the amp that I regret selling most was my Mike Lickliter Rage prototype. Was in acoustic mode last year and I took it to my buddy (long time lurker here) for him to play with. He fell in love with it so I sold it to him to finance a nice Breedlove mandolin. Still have that mando and I like it. But I wish I still had the Lickliter. Awesome amp!

Thanks! I still remember the day I shipped it out. I played it for the last time and I wanted to keep it, but I figured I would build another one. I think it went around the US since.

I understand this thread...how you could not spend enough time with an amp and not know what it really does.

But, I'm sitting here with all my faves...no regrets. I'm happy I can say that.

An ancient Supro combo with a little oval speaker. Man that thing roared! I sold it to my sister 30 years ago.
(She still has it and doesn't want to sell it back. Don't blame her!)

Here's a photo of one just like the one that got away:

a 93 VHT Pittbull classic 212 combo....The greatest amp I've owned, Been looking for another one since

Egnater M4/Randall RT 2:50 and a particular Mark IV short-head I had.

Missed the first Cornford MK50 I bought from Kurt, a few years back.

Bought another one, and had that one modded by Mark.

When Mark's stuff was going for crazy prices, I sold that one, too.

Started missing that one, so i looked for another.

I saw my original pop back up on my local Craigslist, and snagged it back from the dude I sold it to, a couple of years before. :D

It's not leaving again.
