The guitar industry is seemingly one of the few where companies that made awesome new gear 40-50 years ago are still selling the same stuff based on reputation alone. And little progress since in some cases.

If most of them kept up with Boss they'd be better off I'm sure. That's one company that hasn't made a huge habit of fucking up, spare the odd flop here and there. Most recently, one of their more expensive RC looper lines were a shitshow. But most of their stuff is absolute gold.

I like joking that Fender are my favourite Chinese builder.

I know VB had a bad experience, but I find them reliable, decently priced, innovative and unpretentious. And some are legit classics, industry standard. The waza line is trying a little hard maybe but whatever no one’s perfect. And I haven’t actually tried them so I shouldn’t comment.
