Hey guys,
It's been a while since I designed the Hot Chili and on a recent build I decided to finally test out some circuit change ideas that I've collected over the years.
What began as a few minor value tweaks ended in a few significant changes that resulted in the Hot Chili MK2.
- The boost switch has been reworked to be less extreme and take away some bottom end to tighten up the tone while boosting mids/highs for a more aggressive tone
- The shift switch now scoops the very low mids/high bass, which can be very handy to clean up the low end depening on the cab/guitar.
- The voicing switch now adds more saturation for a juicier tone/feel
I reworked amount of gain for a more usable range on the control and adjusted the voicing of the amp to be a bit bigger/fuller sounding while not getting muddy.
Here are two videos showcasing the MK2.
