Also, explain to me, again in plain English, how the SCOTUS can unilaterally amend the constitution. (hint: they can't).

Your problem isn't with the constitution nor the SCOTUS. It's WAY further down the political food chain. If you want your complaint to gain any kind of traction you need to start from a position that isn't, at it's face, ignorant* of the facts and laws.
