FYI - Ben Franklin worked for the British Crown for over two decades. From 1753 until 1774, he served as the Deputy Postmaster General for North America, a paid royal appointment. He was also an overseas agent in London representing the colonial assemblies of Pennsylvania, Georgia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts before being fired for his pro-American actions.
As YOU know this country wouldn't exist if it weren't for a British KIng.
Washington and his crew were a militia and 33% of the country only were on his side at the time. There was nothing noble about them whatsoever.
History is not written as it actually happened and glorifies revolt and theft to suit a controlling narrative.
They none the less went ahead and revolted and stole from the British crown and at the end of the day citizens still paid tax but to different people. So, everything remained the same for them, still governed and paying a local body.
If you want to believe different go for it.
He wasn't fired.
Ole Ben went to England after the declaration was signed trying to reconcile the differences.
which is a bit contrictory b/c he edited TJs drafts of the Declaration
after a few years in the UK he was brought upon Parlement and censured.
after they chastised him and totally humiliated him. At that point a patriot was born.
He was only in Amurihka for the first year or so of the revolutionary conflict
after he left England he went to Paris to gain the Frenchies support
during this time his only son was elected to Governor of NJ as a Loyalist. They never spoke again.
The Son went to jail for some shit that i cant remember and Ben had the influence to free him. He didn't
