ImO The President made a mistake......


But the positive to take from it is that this makes Russia, China and of course Iran think twice before they are prepared to follow their ambitions in the future....... It sets the message clear for good or bad or better or worse that The President wont mess around and maybe this gives The President more leverage on other matters as well beyond Iran.
 
For me being older than a lot of the people I know at first I kind of said..... yeah you know..... we should do it and Iran deserves it.......


But talking to a lot of the younger crowd and these are conservatives who voted for Trump..... you get an understanding of not just distaste of a war but also a deep and real fear of war I never really thought younger people cared about since they all play war video games........... but Americans and America is very afraid after this announcement of bombing Iran......


If the young men and women whos future it is to lead this country and our Great Nation dont want to be a part of this war....... well who am I to sell it to them or make excuses for sending them to war. There are many other reasons why I believe this to be a mistake but IMO that is one of the main ones....... People dont want to kill other people...... people dont want Americans in harms way..... people dont want this war and IMO its a mistake.


The only real solution IMO moving forward as I have said is peace and not war and a real long lasting diplomatic solution....... Americans dont want war in The Middle East.

It isnt built overnight or a day........ and this doesnt mean the ability for Iran to make a nuke is gone...... it isnt like they didnt simply move the enriched uranium from one place to another...... only to continue at a later date..... they will just continue to build one and at one point when they aquire one......


Days like this will be considered nothing by comparison...... a bad situation would be made worse by actions like yesterday.

This is probably the most ironic argument many make regarding the Shah of Iran and US involvement in Iran in the past....... Unilateral US involvement lead to the Iran we have now......and we can thank US involvement for that such as in Iraq/Afghanistan.

If anything its not an argument for war in Iran at this moment and its an argument for the very opposite and is an example of exactly why its such a bad idea.

The hatred for the US and UK is due to US and UK actions in the '50s and '60s, including installing the Shah. The Iranian Islamic Revolution in the '70s was to overthrow the Shah, that's the government of Iran ever since.

The US instigated and helped create the current Iranian regime, the US has an obligation to remove this regime, or weaken it sufficiently that the people of Iran can overthrow it if they want. The obamanation had a chance to support uprising in Iran, he decided to pay them off with our tax dollars instead.

The Iran we have now is a direct result of unilateral US involvement and failed US policy exactly as you describe...... you cant really look at it in any other way than that really..... and its not an argument that makes a strong point for war in Iran and its the exact opposite.


So your saying, lets not learn from the past...... and do the exact same thing and hope for better results..... nvm Iraq or Afghanistan either right :dunno:
