Let's be honest, nobody goes to a concert to see RATT play, they go to see warren play. Nobody Blotzer gets will be able to cop WArren's chops and feel unless he scours YouTube to find the right guy. Blotzer is also a very average drummer. Never really liked his approach to drumming and his fills are shit.

Not really at all. Only guitar players know who Warren DiMartini is. A lot of people still remember Ratt as having a few hits back in the day and the name will still get some attraction from the older 80's crowd. Most normal drunks who are going to see Ratt won't give a ratts ass, no pun intended, about who's playing the guitar solos.

Agreed!

I love DeMartini. I dig his style a lot. However, I think most people who aren't musicians or guitarists are going to recognize Pearcy's voice before anything else. Pearcy was never a great singer, but he was unique and fit the sleazy style of music that Ratt did. Whether I like or agree with it, the singer is always going to be the most recognizable and identifiable element in a band like Ratt.

Warren needs to use this as an opportunity to move on and try something fresh. The only thing he's done outside of Ratt was a somewhat boring Japan-only solo album, a subpar Whitesnake tour, and random guest solos. I'd love to see him put a completely new band together. If Jake E.Lee can prop himself up again and do it, then he certainly can.

"Ugh, here we go. I understand they guy wants to play music and doesn’t want to start over, but without at LEAST DeMartini, ya got nothing bro. It’s the same with Quiet Riot. A drummer is not the band, but then we have the same issue that popped up with Queensryche. These people don’t see their bands as a collective that creates art, but as a corporation. Fun. Maybe they should have Trump sing for them.

Hang it up. High."

Guess that's my answer.

So Ratt = Original drummer, that's it. LOLZA
Lmfao!!!!

Looks like Juan wins. :) I would probably go see this version and hope that Warren joins up later:

Surprisingly enough, that actually sounded really good!

So what each former member has a new band and doing Ratt covers? If that is what this is than Jesus Christ.

It's interesting, he references "taking control of the Ratt brand" or name, and says he's won the right to use it, but I can't find a court decision anywhere. Coupled with Warren's comments it sounds like BS. But at this point, who cares lol

RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini says that he is "totally against" his bandmate Bobby Blotzer's decision to use the RATT name for the drummer's "tribute band" and is taking steps "to prevent any further misuse" of the brand. Blotzer has since expressed his desire to keep RATT alive with a new singer, but explained that DeMartini did not want to tour as RATT without Pearcy.

I've been a RATT fan since the beginning and believe that Pearcy's unique "vocal style" was a huge part of their success, BUT, this ain't the 80's no more....and if what Blotz is saying is true, Holy WTF Warren?

WHY would you want THIS to continue????

I'm sure you could find a singer who sounds enough like Pearcy who can hit the notes, or at least seem like he's trying.

Beg to differ. This guy is at every one of their shows. Standing at the back of the venue.
Just WAITING for DeMartini to miss that note.
So he can say "AHHHH HA!!!"
We all know him.
Arm Crossed guy.

LOL! I couldn't agree more! If that's an indicator of what they were sounding like live, I'll stick to the cd. This way my memories of how great they were can remain in tact. That whole vid seemed like this vids that guys overdub people like Yngwie with really bad sloppy playing.

I saw them a little while before Pearcy left the last time and the vocals were horrible. The band sounded fine but Stephen was not good. In all fairness, I never thought he was a good singer, but they had some good songs. I love Warren's playing but that alone isn't going to save a show when the vocals are just painful to listen to. The bass player is bringing his version to my area this weekend. They asked to book my cover band for it a few months ago. They only required the use of our amps, guitars, pa, soundman, and drums. We could play 45 minutes for "amazing exposure." Needless to say we passed on the "opportunity." It's going to be at a bar that is nothing special plus they are charging $25 a head. They now have a band that has never been out of their basement opening with a local all original metal band. Two openers filling 45 minutes and then the bass player from Ratt with a bunch of random guys calling themselves Ratt. I will pass on this, I have to comb my hair that night lol

Even if they were all still capable and ready to tour I couldn't care less. They hadn't put out any songs I cared about in 20 years....The recorded material sounds great in my car/stereo the two times a year I care to listen to RATT. Warren had some tasty licks, great tone and some songs were catchy but that's not enough to sustain interest at this point.

I watched the Juan vid and while he's light fucking years better than Pearcy, there are NO winners in this.....
