Straining midrange? I bet that pairs up real good with a Charmin clean boost pedal.

And your Dumble sounds no where near as good as Tag's. It doesn't have that stringiness and straining midrange.

Yeah, I think he sold off everything but I'm not sure .stratotone":1aib8s8j said:cliffc8488":1aib8s8j said:Audioholic":1aib8s8j said:Neither of them sound anywhere close to as good as my dumble sounds.

LOL!
Didn't Tag sell it? I remember the threads for months about his magical amp. Him buying that amp was like North Korea getting 1,000 warheads.

The first one has a less meaty lows and low mids character, as well as a very slight, yet audible "haze" in the treble. Just listen to the one second @ :33-:34. Excellent body to that chord. Its just not there @ :08-:09! Thats what is always missing with modelers IME. Now these are very small differences and would NOT be evident in a proper mix IMO. The axe fx is MUCH closer than Line 6. All that being said I'm starting to GAS for an axe fx. I think the haze could be dialed all the way out with some tweaking in a DAW, possibly just tweaking in the unit itself. One million amps for $2000 is a helluva deal.

I think he bought the amp mostly to have 'bragging rights/gravitas' on Dumble threads.
Random TGP guy: "I think the dumble sound is overrated"
Tag: "I owned magical dumble, you are wrong. I owned one!"
Random TGP guy: "I played a great dumble the other day"
Tag: "I owned magical dumble, yours sucked in comparison. I had Robben Ford tone!"
random TGP guy: "xxx amp sounds just like a dumble!"
Tag: "Not the magical dumble I owned! It had extra crystal lattices"

Mmm-hmm. Might have had some validity if it you posted this before the answer was revealed.
