Straining midrange? I bet that pairs up real good with a Charmin clean boost pedal.

Neither of them sound anywhere close to as good as my dumble sounds.

And your Dumble sounds no where near as good as Tag's. It doesn't have that stringiness and straining midrange.

LOL!

Didn't Tag sell it? I remember the threads for months about his magical amp. Him buying that amp was like North Korea getting 1,000 warheads.

Yeah, I think he sold off everything but I'm not sure .

Yeah, I think he sold off everything but I'm not sure .

I think he bought the amp mostly to have 'bragging rights/gravitas' on Dumble threads.

Random TGP guy: "I think the dumble sound is overrated"
Tag: "I owned magical dumble, you are wrong. I owned one!"

Random TGP guy: "I played a great dumble the other day"
Tag: "I owned magical dumble, yours sucked in comparison. I had Robben Ford tone!"

random TGP guy: "xxx amp sounds just like a dumble!"
Tag: "Not the magical dumble I owned! It had extra crystal lattices"

Had another builder reverse engineer it :D

That was the most awesome street cred purchuse ever as they could not longer shut him up   I love Tag though, dude is a straight shooter

Oh man, are you guys gonna nail me for this....I can most certainly hear the difference between the two. The first one has a less meaty lows and low mids character, as well as a very slight, yet audible "haze" in the treble. Just listen to the one second @ :33-:34. Excellent body to that chord. Its just not there @ :08-:09! Thats what is always missing with modelers IME. Now these are very small differences and would NOT be evident in a proper mix IMO. The axe fx is MUCH closer than Line 6. All that being said I'm starting to GAS for an axe fx. I think the haze could be dialed all the way out with some tweaking in a DAW, possibly just tweaking in the unit itself. One million amps for $2000 is a helluva deal.

Mmm-hmm. Might have had some validity if it you posted this before the answer was revealed.

Found this earlier today. Sweet Child played in full with Marsha sim on Axe version 10.

Ok... so let's see... now I'm GASing for a Slash Les Paul AND an AxeFX... thanks....

Crystal lattices .... every time I see this it reminds me of the void.

If he bought that for "street cred" then there is not enough :gay: to post.

what exactly is invalid to you? I did post after it was revealed. That's when I listened to the clip. Then I pointed out exact moments of the clip where the differences are obvious. If you can't hear those differences then I don't know what to say. I would have to think the vast majority of people can hear those qualities I referred to. No slam on the axe fx. I'll be picking one up very soon. It's value is too great. Still doesn't change the facts from that clip. I'll try to be more valid in the future...

I could not tell which was real. I liked track 1 better. So if everyone buys modeling amp eventually we will have no real amps left to model and there will be nothing to GAS over.

I have not picked up the Axe yet for 2 reasons. 1st the cost, 2nd fear of tech upgrades like PCs. I cannot afford to pay 2 grand every 3 years for the latest & greatest. I am not a hater in fact I really want an Ultra but would have to sell alot of stuff I don't want to loose to get it.

Another thing - I am suprised the big amp companys have not trademarked there amp sounds yet. Shit Harley Davidson did it.

Harley Davidson tried, but gave up in 2000.
