It was simple for me. I'm not putting trash made using aborted fetal cells in my body. And....nobody tells me what to do. I could give crap what some soy fed pincushion tries to say about it. I'll gladly die if necessary. Had it at least 3x, didn't do jack to me....As a Gen X'er...I had all of my childhood shots....back when there was like 10 of them....or less. Couldn't actually tell you which ones. My mother might know but she's 82 so it's doubtful.
I cut my hand on some rusty barbed wire a couple years ago, I got another Tetanus shot just in case.
I choose not to get a flu shot as I prefer to take my chances and let my immune system get some practice. Since I work with the public, I come across all the crud year after year. I think I've had the flu once in the last 10 years. It sucked.
When the Covid vax came out, I was luckily in the group that wasn't prioritized. By the time it was available, I had already been through 2 bouts of Covid. One of the OG version and then again with one of the variants. Both times, my primary care physician put me on a cocktail of vitamins and controversial medicines many of you deemed ineffective. Pushed through it like any other illness. Never got really sick thankfully.
My wife and I had a consultation with our primary care physician during the "winter of death" when the pressure to get the vaccine was at fever pitch. His recommendation for us was to not take the vax based on the fact we had both already had the virus, both are average height/weight, we don't have co-morbidities, and not in an age group that was "at risk". Seemed like sound advice. In hindsight, I thank God everyday we made that appointment and had an honest conversation about it. The pressure was immense back then.
All that to say....
You act as though I put no thought into this. Some podcaster told me not to get the vax and so we didn't. Some dudes on an internet forum told me not to get the vax so we didn't. The talking heads on the tv told me not to get the vax so we didn't.
Sorry, that's just not the case James. We made a decision to pass on the Covid vax with the recommendation of our doctor.
But somehow, I'm an anti-vaxer/vax-denier that ignores "the data"? Come on man.
Should we have just glazed over like many did and just take the shot because the government/Fauci told us to? Be guilted into taking it because some sense of morality was attached to the argument?
You can attempt to deny the adverse effects of this shot all you want. Present any facts, data, fear gossip, studies, etc.
I don't judge those who got the shot. Everyone had their reasons. If that reason was because the government/Fauci told you to....then I pity you.
I sincerely hope there aren't going to be massive downstream effects on young people....but I fear it's already starting to manifest. I would like nothing more than to have you prove me wrong James. I truly do. This is a debate I have no interest in winning.
They tried to lean on my wife hard at work. Nobody is gonna railroad my old lady. I put the house up for sale and prepared to move, the furor started to die down, the buyer walked on the house leaving behind his 4k escrow, and she was able to get a religious exemption. Our priest wrote the letter. Thank God for the orthodox church.
