So once again my never ending search has me gassing for a possible whole new rig. Currently play the Suhr PT100 thru CAA 4x12 loaded with Scumbacks and love it..so far my favorite amp that i've owned..and saying alot since it's up against good company as seen in list below. My only complaint is that my other guitar player plays a Splawn quickrod and the stage levels are drastic..his quickrod cuts thru the mix like a knife and leaves leaning to hear my PT100. I have to turn up stage level volume so much that it overpowers the rest of the mix...my only complaint. So here is where I stand.. Been looking at and enamored by the Titan Cerberus, Splawn Streetrod...also stoked for the new version of the PT100. Basically just looking for opinions on the Titans if any1 has played them and how they compare to the other boutique amps out there. I want a versatile amp that excels in the Hard Rock, organic, more hot rodded marshally tones but also with a warm, articulate lead channel or solo boost option. Not a big fan of overly saturated, compressed, hi fi voiced amps. Below is a list of what Ive had so feel free to let your opinions fly. I know there are alot of good ears, players, musicians in this forum and love to hear what you got for me. Cheerz and Thanx.

Heres my owned list: PT100, 20th Bogner XTC, XTC 101b, Diezel Herbert, Splawn Nitro, Mesa Recto, 5150

lacks on the features, but the first thing that comes to mind is a laney GH100TI

its a single channel, but the amplifier makes up for it in serious dynamics capabilities, a clean channel to die for, loves the low gain or high gain input, built like a brick shithouse, 120W, and can cover alot of areas/ground.

thats what i would recommend IMHO - build up a volume footswitch pedal for a solo boost and hit the front end.

check it out. you're dancing around it with those amplifiers IMHO

Thanx for the opinions so far guyz..appreciate it...keep 'em coming!!
Would really like to hear from some1 that has played or heard the Titan Cerberus in person and how it compares to the PT100, StreetRod, .... Thanks

What kinda music????
I would say a Nitro will complement it with the low mids .that amps is brutal in a mix .The QR and SR are basically the same amp but SR will compress a bit more and is rounder and warmer
A Soldano is a good choice .
Or maybe a Freidman ,Cameron CCV.
But if you like the Splawn the Nitro would be the obvious one for the whole band sound as well

This is the second thread of this type today. Evryone needs to learn that you have to EQ your amp differently when playing with a band, especially a two guitar band. My advice is get a wireless or borrow one and get out in the room and hear what you really sound like. If I plug into one of my gig amps at home I have to dial it in differently because it sounds very high endy. You really shouldn't be having this problem with the PT100.

Yeah, I'm suprised that a PT100 would have a problem being heard since it sounds like a good Marshall with some kerrrang. I'm not suprised to hear that the other guy has a Splawn and he cuts through, those Splawns have a slicing mid that probably works in band situations and it's a loud amp.

Thing is, are you using a lead boost for your solo's? Not a gain boost but a volume boost of some sort? In a 2 guitar mix you really need to boost the volume level if you want to be heard when you step out for a solo, unless the soundguy is your brother or best friend. :D

I agree with the others, you shouldn't be having this problem with a PT100 and competing with a QR. But, if you are playing slightly to the scooped side with another guitarist, this can be a problem. Have a look at a Suhr Koko Boost with the Mid-Boost and OD Boost. It was built for this exact dilemma. If you like the PT tones, there's lots you can do short of getting something else. Or, just an EQ pedal can usually do the trick. Look at a HBE Detox which is probably one of the coolest EQ pedals on the planet.

Another thought may be to PM Pete Thorn. He would probably be happy to share with you his stage set up with Cornell and EQ'ing solutions.

I was thinking the same thing. Most of the amps that he listed as having owned should cut through. It's a matter of finding the right frequency (somewhere in the mids) to occupy to cut-through the mix and distinguish your playing from everyone else's. Speakers can play a huge part in this. I HATE V30s at home and prefer my G12-30s. But at band practice and gigs, the V30s cut through the mix like laser beams, but in a good way there. I think that many a nice amp has been sent packing for want of its owner having found the proper EQ settings for their chosen music and band situations. Just my worthless $.02.

Well you have had great amps! And I think we have similar tastes in amps because I loved the PT-100 but never had a chance to buy it. I decided upon the Friedman Marsha without even trying it....

I think you should give a Friedman, Cameron Jose or Fortin Cali Marshall a try, for those tones. Maybe even the CCV too

Want to bury that splawn? Buy a Fortin, or cali mod. Trust me. Former Splawn owner here. Great amps aswell. But nothin on a Fortin. Nothing.

Damn...lots of advice..thank you. I am running some fair amounts of mids with the PT100...I also run the Suhr Kokoboost in front of amp with the mid boost engaged and the freq toggle far left.. I run midboost at 9 o'clock.. The only problem Im finding with that setup is that I get a substancial more amount of hum/hiss when the kokoboost is engaged....almost to the point of sizzling. Wondering maybe if I put the koko in the SS fx loop it would alleviate this problem?? Thru the PA my tone is good (I do have shure wireless slx system) so I am able to go out and dial in my sound..It's just on stage that all I hear is the QuickRod cutting thru. I do love the PT100 and it's killed everything else in comparison.. I probably just need to take an afternoon and really work on my stage volume and overall tone.. Never claimed to be a sound guy or tech genius.. I just want to grab a beer, plug in, and sound damn good  Thanx again for all your advice fellow members. Much appreciated! Im also running JJ EL34's biased right around 34ma... fyi.

Hmm...
Not heard of those having trouble cutting through, maybe your other guy loves mids and has them cranked?
Usually a cut problem is centered around the mids, your mid levels are middle of the road, (just thinking out loud) maybe he has his a bit higher than yours? Thats a great amp, I'm suprised your having that issue head to head with a splawn.
Your sound guy is not doing that for what he believes is diffrentiating between the two of you is he?
I know thats a longshot, I'm just looking for something that makes sense ;)

what else is on your pedal board besides the Koko and what order?
