Gear sells, who's buying?
If it's just overpriced junk, it won't sell anyway. We've all seen this crap on CL, eBay & Reverb, way overpriced gear that will never sell in the person's lifetime. It will always be there, it is what it is, junk no one wants at any price.
In the last month I've sold a power amp, eBay $1,550.00, ( had it here for $1,250) two Taylor acoustics (had 'em here) & an electric on CL for my asking price. Gear does sell, price and quality is what they're buying.
Another plus is if it's normal, generic looking and trusted gear. Custom (ugly ass) stuff will only be attractive to certain people and will take some focused marketing.
