The KK sounds cool, definitely modded Marshall. My #1 is the lower channel of the Uber. I play that 90% off the time. Combined with the KSR Power 100W 6L6 amp it has do much punch and attack. It feels dynamic when I play it if that makes sense. They’re all good and have a place.

It’s an amazing system. I’ve added over the last several years and I now have 4 SYN-2 so I can switch between 8 modules via midi pedal. That is basically a 16 channel amp. Incredible.

I love that Jet/Blue Channel on the Uber but IMO the Ecstasy module is maybe the best Marshall tone I've ever heard.. especially with and OD in front. I regret getting rid of it but will get another. The Uber Blue channel is close to the Ecstasy though.

The XTC was good, I traded it away though, never played it too much.

Well, I just finished configuring the 4th SYN-2 with my midi switch so now I can switch between all 16 channels. Sounds magnificent !!

I might get a KSR 50 watt down the road but need to figure out a easy gig rig with it and how I would utilize Synergy. I don't know, maybe I should just use the 20IR. As someone mentioned, would be great if they made a 50IR amp.

@stratjacket I just plugged my Uber module into my 20IR for the first time in a while. That Blue channel is awesome.. it's funny that the best Marshall tones I think I've ever gotten were with these Bogner modules in a 20 watt Synergy.

I already have the Z-Wreck and that is amazing for Crunchy AC-Style Tones and Cleans.

I just ordered a KK. I´m not a typical Metal-guy at all. I´m more into 80´s Rock/Hardrock and Classical Metal. I Love (hot-rodded) 2204/03 Marshalls, I love Soldanos, Mesa/Petrucci tones and especially Channel 2 of the CAA 3+SE (for that LA-Session-Pop-Rock tones).

Now, I´m not sure, If I got the right modul for my taste. Maybe, I should have got the SLOII. The KK can probably do that lower gain crunch quite well, but I´m not sure, If the Mids are too high voiced for full-warm sounds. The SLO should have greater lower mids.

Man... that Syn-System can lead into some serious adiction :-/

EDIT: what I don´t like (but also I do like it for it´s precision) is, how the (real)SLO reacts to the playing because for shredding solos, I need a boost (to cover the lack of my technique). When it comes to sheer gain, I´m sure the KK would have enough to not have that necessarity.

Plenty of gain on the KK for sure , no need for boost

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it as our musical interests sound the same. Have you ever played the Ecstasy? IMO, it is the best version of the JCM 800 and more that I've heard. I have the SLO (OG) and it is ok... but nothing special... I prefer the Friedman to it.

In real life, I adore Soldanos and the Hotrod50+ is still my No1 amp. I also have a JMP2204 and with a boost (TS or better a SD1), It´s a terrific riff-monster. I had a Bogner Modded (Cantrell-Mod) 2203 and a early Diezel modded Dual Channel JCM2x12 Combo at one time and those where also great. So is my trusty Studio22+. But no matter, what I play: once, I go back to the Soldano, I´m set again.

Not sure if a) the KK is able to get me into that territory and/or b) how accurate the SLO-Sound is implemented into the SLO-Modules.

Sure. I have the Syn20IR and the EL84 sure do have a big impact to the tone, but for me, the Mid-character is what defines the sound ....

You guys are not helping my Synergy addiction...lol.

Hey frama78, I'm a classic rock, hair metal, hard rock guy and you will dig the Killer Kali. I have thr SLO-II also and love both. Thr Killer Kali can get into the rip your face off tones way easier than the SLO-II if you want that.

A trick I learned by reading up about Killer Kali settings. Dime the first gain knob and then pull the second gain back to around 11 o'clock or so. I normally don't use the bright switches. The Violence knob is great.

I really want to get a Friedman BE DLX module and think I'd love the Bogner Uberschall one. Don't worry about any of the modules though. With the right settings they can do ACDC tones.
