These Synergy amps sound great.

I like them and a lot of Egnater Previous stuff

I think getting the builders involved is awesome ,so you have a circuit designed by Mike Soldano , Peter Deizel etc .

The Issues to me are

1) what you use for a power amp is going to impact the overall authenticity of the module
2) When i owned my MTS rig it was easily the noisiest amp i had ever used ,so the noise floor is a concern
3) Price point they are not cheap , get a 50 watt head loaded with say 2 freedman modules and your at $3000 ,probably more than an actual used BE ,Deizel etc

Wow, 3 grand!?!?! I thought they were much less than that. Cant you use the amp you already have, the power amp in it I mean?

I’m hearing a lot of mixed reviews and yes, it ain’t cheap. Cool concept though.

The Syn 50 head is 2199$

http://www.synergyamps.com/index.php/amps/syn50

the two modules are 399$ each.

IMHO it´s not fair to compare the used prices up against the new stuff!

If this is too high in your opinion, you have to wait a year or two
and buy the whole bundle on the used market for, let´s say, 1500$ ... ;)

Agreed ,they sound good But there is a lot of stuff out there that sounds good in that price range .

If you take something like a Mesa TC50 ,your getting 3 channels, reverb w/levels for each channel ,a direct out , power tube choices , compact size for $1799.
their pricing on the Syn 30 and Syn50 are way out IMO .

1599 on a 30 watt w. built in clean vs 2199 empty w 2 module bays , $600 for slightly bigger Iron and an extra module slot make no sense to me ,The Mod50 came loaded for $2000 ,even if they charged $2300 loaded that would make sense . to me the value for the 50head just isn't there

I like the desktop model and the concept, but your at $900 just getting into it with 1 module.

Too many used real amps I'd buy in that range before I started to monkey around with something like this.

IMO the market demographic for these is too small at this price point. It would basically have to be the solution to a pretty specific need unless I had a lot of disposable income.

If the earlier Randall and Egnater stuff didn't take off and they didn't seem to easily work out the bugs, I'm not sure these will. I love the concept... but pricewise???

I went to a Lynch guitar clinic and they had him going through a Lynchbox module amp and that thing hissed like no tomorrow George embarrased blamed it one of his pedals but it was really annoying listening to that hiss the whole night.

That was my experience with MTS as well .It was easily the noisiest hi gainer i have ever used .and I've had Baron, Boogie, Peters, KSR none had that buzz, hiss or radio interference issue that Randall had ,I am guessing because the module was being plugged in and it wasn't part of the circuit maybe it wasn't able to to filtered as much as isolated far enough away from the other components .also likely sub par components . Now I will bet Synergy will be better BUT it would be a big concern to me going in ,
Also the no master volume on a Syn 30 head but Midi makes me kinda shake my head.

it will be intresting to see if 3rd times the charm . Egnater , Randall couldn't maintain ,hope Synergy can

Just an FYI, us old timers are still out there making killer modules as well....Our noise levels have been reduced and the tones are outta this world. See my sig below. Thanks....

Synergy seems to have brought the hardware a long way!
