First of all, I do not own a POD or an AF. I see the pros and cons to these types of units. With that said, I will bet that the POD is on more grammy nominated recording than the AF. Line6 has put big money into giving professional musicians what they are asking for in a modling unit. I mean hell, just look at the POD Pro X3!!! There are also way too many touring pros who use the POD to give any validity to the statement that the AF is far superior. Once again, cork sniffers will be cork sniffers. I'll stick to my lowly tube amp for now. :)

That's no different then the guys that dismiss any tube amp that doesn't cost 5 grand. I'll take my 200 dollar JMP, thanks. :)

Don't you think that this is kind of obvious being that the POD has been out for many years and the AF is relatively new.

Why would I care? I use my ears to judge what I put MY money into and I prefer the AF to the Line6 units currently

Who cares what it looks like? I only care what it SOUNDS like...

My ears are telling me the AF is superior. I couldn't care less what "touring pros" do...

I don't get it?

I'll stick to whatever works for me. Which right now includes the AF and a coupla tube amps...

Man, I never thought I'd see the day when someone using a modelling amp was called a cork sniffer. :)

Superior this, cork-sniff that, blah blah blah. Argue argue argue.

There, do I fit into this thread? :D

Maybe... which g-spot vibrator do you enjoy most?

You guys are all using the wrong term. "G-spot" is for chicks, "P-spot" is for dudes. Ewww... I can't believe I knew that (and admitted to it.)

You're assuming I thought he was using it on himself...

All I know is that if the Line 6 name is on it, more touring professionals use it and therefore it is better.

Is there a Line 6 breakfast cereal? I should check into that.

Are you serious? Touring bands don't eat breakfast cereal. Everybody knows that. Geeeeez.

I should read more guitar mags...

I will wait till the love fest and hate fest is over.. and hang on to my rocktron voodu valve until further clips I like come about. time test and all that stuff.. I have yet to read an actual non biased review.. oh wait is their such a thing!! :gethim:

I am one who does listen through headphones/monitors to those sounds things.. and have for years.

Hey you were the one explaining "p-spots" over "g-spots"... :hys:

Steve

So does the Line6 emulate the best g-spot vibrators including historic models?

Endorsed by Linda Lovelace and Nina Hartley with their own models tenderly re-created

Many people are too emotionally attached to their gear. I don't get it (You wanna have some fun? Go on over to a certain site and mention that you don't like the Ultimate Attenuator).

As for the POD, I love it. I think the Axe-Fx is better (and for the price, it damn well better be), but if all you're doing is direct recording or headphone practice, then the POD is more than good enough (and frankly, for a guy old enough to have purchased a first generation Rockman when it came out, the POD is a freakin' miracle).

As a pre-amp in a live rig? The Axe-Fx wins hands down to my ears. Maybe not yours. Which is A-OK by me.

Great point on the POD vs first generation digital gear   I have been dabbling in digital/modeling since the beginning too and everything out there today is waaaaaaaaay beyond the first stuff....as you would expect.

I also agree on the Axe being a great preamp....this is how I use it. Preamp/effects all in one box into a power amp and 2 cabinets.

I think the next step of this Axe-FX would be modeling classic guitar tones. Imagine if it were packed with BOG, Allman Bros-Fillmore, Mountain, Humble Pie, Led Zep, etc, etc.

I still think its an interesting recording tool, based off what Ive heard so far.

I actually don't think this is a good idea. Patches set up to sound great in one setup would sound like poo in another.
