Polo Grounds was the weirdest one of all for sure..... And 483 down the center..... Places like that were definitely a pitchers best friend but Ralph hit a triple there around a 475-483 foot trajectory/arc length on left field, something like that would clear most other parks easy but not Polo Grounds.... You probably needed a clean 500 foot trajectory dinger minimum to cleanly clear that wall. That triple would have been an easy HR anywhere else.


Such feats took men made of something else......


Only 4 players hit a HR at Polo Grounds dead center too in the entire history of the park being used in the MLB or Negro League use.
