When I was getting ready to buy my newest head, I jumped on to every web forum I could find looking into every post on Diezel heads. My friend has a Herbert which I have been playing for the last year on a semi regular basis. That said I knew what the tone was and loved it. It took about 3 seconds my first time plugging in to it to realize that it is the tone I have been chasing for 30 years. While reading through the posts on several forums I read many people bad mouthing the heads- enough to make me question the purchase. Fortunately I stuck to my guns and got my Herbert. After a week of playing on this and fooling around with the channels and tones it is capable of- I'd have to say this amp is a dream- in all aspects. It seems no matter how I flip a switch and turn a knob it always sounds amazing to me. I Have a Mesa Roadking and a Mark 3, and though I don't have a bad thing to say about either of them (both have been reliable as hell and the 1 problem I did have, Mesa fixed over the phone), I never found the tonal happiness out of them that I find in the Diezel. Reading through these forums on rig talk I can easily see that Peter Diezel is a man of his word. He does his best to build an amazing product, and stands behind it. For anyone who was in my position a week ago- Let your ears be the judge, if so you will get your hands on a Diezel! Deep down I wonder if the mal contents on web forums are just jealous they can't afford one? or plants from other amp companies????
I view this head much like a high end sports car- It's expensive up front and requires tune ups (which can also be expensive) BUT Like the high end Ferrari/ Lamborghini when you let the thing loose nothing can touch it! So if you are someone who is after an amp that will never hiccup- you should probably look to some solid state amp (YUK), but if you don't mind having to change a tube, and you want tone- A Diezel warrants a try before you buy anything.
It's also to note that there are hundreds of happy Diezel owners on here. As for me I couldn't be happier

nice to hear that and congratz.
so far, I don't own a Diezel yet. I never had a chance to try one and probalby I will need to get one blindly, but something tells me that the Einstein is the way to go.
I keep my fingers crossed and posts like yours just encourage me.
rock on!
