However, If you've been around long enough you'll know political parties have one core interest, power. They will adopt any belief, or strategy necessary to win.

When team blue jumped fully on board with the civil rights movement, they did that strategically to pull off some victories. The republicans needed to strike back, so they scooped up all those newly disenfranchised racists in the south.
