Don't get me wrong, I love a good Gibby LP. Just saying today, you really have to sit down and try a shit pile of them out to find one that feels right.

Which is why i just sold one. I play my BOLT ON Drop Top, i grab the LP Custom and is there a big difference in tone? Hmmmmmmm, maybe a little bit but not a big one, that's just bridge humbucker tones not anything else since my Drop Top has a single in the neck. And were talking a strat style guitar so I'd love to compare a Bulldog.

And here's a guy playing a LP. I mean, this IS a LP so this thing should have THE tone right?

I am never wearing my Coke t-shirt again.

I am looking out for a "better" Les Paul. Anybody tried the Anderson Bulldog yet? They seem to be selling well, but don't know anybody that owns or has played one. Of course, one of my RT brothers could pop into a dealer and try one out for us :D

Or, I may get another McNaught built to specs.

Played one at NAMM. Absolutely fucking ridiculously badass.

After my 7 String Drop Top comes in October I am ordering one.

Sounds great but just think how much better this guy would sound with a TA instead of that pos Gibsuck. Those frets ends are probably tearing up his hand causing his voice to drift out of key like that.

I still didn't get one yet. Went with a Nik Huber instead, which cured the immediate Les Paul replacement GAS, and then some.

I am a huge Tom Anderson fan. I haven't played one but I bet it sounds and plays fantastic (regardless of the bolt on neck or not). The 2 bolt A-Wedgie is an amazing neck joint. I wouldn't put it in the same category as a traditional bolt on. Either way, it is a bolt on. Here are some killer Bulldog TAGs:

I would say give it a shot or take a look at Nash Guitars: http://www.nashguitars.com/lp_guitars.html

I think theirs look amazing and have that more traditional LP look (and reliced). For me, the Bulldog would be my top choice if I wanted something a tad different. If I had to have the traditional LP look I would seriously take a look at Nash.

I have 2 Bulldogs and they are exceptional. The fact that they are bolt-ons makes no real difference either, Tom's neck joint is superb and brings the same levels of sustain. It's easily better than a 2013 R9 I owned and returned. For me there is no better builder for a LP clone. Nik Huber is very good but IMHO these are the best of the LP clones to date.

So WHICH model is the "LP" sound?

Chambered?
Solid?
Pancake?
Standard?
Custom?
Rosewood board?
Ebony board?
Cloud 9?
Standard Plus?
PAF?
Burstbuckers?
Custom Shop?
Mass Produced?
Yacamaco?
Murphy Aged?
Studio?
EMGs?

Dead serious not busting balls. 100s have stated "the LP tone" and "nobody else can create it" but I have never been told the answer to their belief. How can one state something and not know why? Kind of basement player / internetish answer no?

Do they own their own private forest?

Another thing, if you really think Tom Anderson, Collins, or any other of the small custom shops can't build a better LP than Gibson you are on drugs

Yes. All of this. Yes.

Digijams hit it on the head, but this is a three year old post. :D

all anderson guitars are perfect.
That said, i think what makes a gibson sound like they do is imperfection itself.

They are not polite at all, break easily, don't stay in tune, and maybe that is why we love ours.

Just get a 2013 Traditional and spend the other money going to the movies.

P.S Stereosnakes someone here has in their sig: You sound Great!

Love Anderson's!
For a killer LP go buy a heritage!
