I always say that out of the Big 4, Anthrax’s albums are the best production wise and in terms of consistence too. The band seems to be having a bit of a revival these days. My favourite is “I Am The Law”. Big Judge Dredd fan.
I am the law and nothing are my favorites

His tone on this album is horrible . I love the songs but wtf thus tone is bad

This is when he was recording with Randalls. His Randall Tone was always terrible. Anytime i saw them live(with the randall) it was REALLY Bad.

Yes yes . I was in the front row one time and it was even worse than this recording. It was so fuzzy

I Thankfully got to see them when he was using his Jubilee & funny enough it was the only time i saw him play a Gibson SG Live.

I would have never guessed a thread about Scott Ian’s tone would be 4 pages?
Pretty basic ingredients in the recipe. The guy is a strong rhythm player, but the bands songs never appealed to me at all.

Also a big fan of John Bush era. I got into them relatively later and got to see them in 2003 with Bush. Never got into the timbre of Joey’s voice. Guitar tones were great on those earlier albums for sure. Scott Ian surely knows how to play some rhythm.

I remember the House of Blues website had streaming concerts (feel like this was just before YouTube was a thing) and used to watch their Salt Lake City show from July of 2000. Paul Crook plays some cool Mockingbirds too! Love their versions of Inside Out and Bring the Noise.

A few months ago I saw him with Armored Saint. I really like John and had big shoes to fill for old school Anthrax fans like me. He has a great voice and crazy he almost ended up fronting Metallica. I love The Sound of White Noise and was such a great fresh sound.

We drove up to see a show in Berkley, Ca that tour circa 87 (?). We get to town early on a Friday and hear of an underground record store in SF called the 'Record vault' We drive into the city and get there to see posters saying 'Anthrax will be here at 3:30pm" !!

There are literally 6 or 7 other people in this tiny hole in the wall old house made into a record store and in wall all the guys from the band and some chick who looked kinda goth.

They were obviously looking around like 'where's everyone at'? They singed my ATL poster and I had it for years. Great show and mosh pit.
Had the poster for years then gave it to a buddy to put up in his studio :m17:

Inside out with dimes solo is incredible

His tone from 86-90 was one of the best . Anthrax is not for everyone but damn among the living is a tone monster

Worship Music is a great album but the tone is still odd . But better and the Randall Years still
