Really liking the results, sounds better at tv volumes also, when the house is asleep.

The settings are real similar to where I put mine, I also use a Maxon but a 808x (I need to try the green one one day)
You still have the Fortin Grind? I had 2 and miss them, lol they were awesome with DMoll

Love my od808, it will always stay. I'm actually on the waiting list for a v2 fortin grind, for the dmoll specifically, I like it's got more headroom with 9v now. Supposed to be quieter also

How's that Para EQ?

I've read the same thing. The Herbert has this sub low end that is very unique, I don't know if the Dmoll has that or not since I've never owned anything other than the Herbert/VH4/Hagen. But yeah, you can without a doubt tell the Dmoll was modeled around the Herbert, which is awesome.LunatiBSW":317zee97 said:RJF":317zee97 said:I run pretty similar settings on my Herbert. I'd bet the dmoll and Herbert aren't that different at the end of the day minus the power section. But I read on the Diezel site saying it's the same voicing and it's Herbert's "little brother." It was a nice start into the Diezel world for me though. I still wanna try the other models for sure someday. But I'm not thinking results will be night and day in the Diezel camp, but what do I know
Yes, I've gotten to AB a Herbert and Dmoll and agree about the little brother description. The Herbert was like the Dmoll but with a lot more horsepower, sounded more robust and punchy.RJF":2rig6ioj said:I've read the same thing. I'd also like to try a Fortin Grind pedal as a boost for mine, but haven't bought one yet.
Yeah the Savage and Cusack Screamer V2 are my 2 favorite overdrive pedals at the moment. I also love my Thorpy Gunshot, but that's not well suited for modern metal. The Savage and Protodrive can both get at least as much tightness and attack of the grind, but retain more low end and thickness, and can get a lot more saturated and gritty if neededLunatiBSW":21cxwa3t said:^ is the airis savage badass? I've thought about picking one up. Looks cool. You like it over the grind?

It can work quite well for that in the right set-up. I wouldn't use it though in front of an amp that's too compressed or high gain. It's not the most transparent od pedaI, but still one of my favorites. I would still though for "liquid metal leads" prefer the Savage or Screamer V2 (especially for fast licks where you want to hear clarity in all the notes and the attack of them) and also the Mad Professor Sky Blue. The Sky Blue has this awesome velvety sound and texture to the notes that I never heard in any other od pedal. It works great for shreddy leads too (I think a little better than the gunshot), but really excels in more slow, soulful type leads with a lot of vibratomoltenmetalburn":19malfap said:braintheory":19malfap said:Yeah the Savage and Cusack Screamer V2 are my 2 favorite overdrive pedals at the moment. Talk about the gunshot and metal. I know it wont do the tight bottom rythym thing but what about liquid metal leads?

Also, I remember you said you didn't like the way the Savage looks, but Rick from Airis seems to be pretty flexible with other visual designs as well (he's done many others and often will have them with video game theme aesthetics which look kinda funny), and I'm sure he'd be willing to make it in such a design that would probably be okay for you. Just thought I'd mention that since you said it looked ugly and I don't think you should miss out on a pedal that could potentially be what you're looking for just because it looks ugly to you
The Savage, Screamer V2, and Sky Blue are definitely my 3 favorites for leads out of the countless od pedals I've tried and owned
Did you get your dual Rec modded there by Mike b?LunatiBSW":2h578atl said:Just ordered a new savage drive off a USA seller on reverb. Can't wait, and my dual rec gets back from Mesa tomorrow, so I bet this pedal will be cool with that also
