The Planet Tone Legacy is a 1959 Paf with Alnico Vs if that is what you are going for.

I have one in my S/H tele in the bridge and it rocks.
I never even heard of Planet Tone until reading your post and I just checked out their site. Man, they make some good stuff at reasonable prices!

I have several sets now.

Probably my favorite currently seem to be the Road Pro IV overall. I run them with just a volume pot and damn they just sound right where I want them EQ wise.

The A4 magnets are just too cool.

I love my A5 stuff from there as well.

Have some A3s in a strat that rip and some A2 buckers that are fun as well.

Just hit them up via the chat and tell them what you are seeking and they can probably help you out.

Pricing is a crazy bonus - I buy them for the tone.

I prefer the 'Hot' variants of fhe 50s style stuff.

Hey Scott, would definitely prefer to purchase yours but seeing yours are not options at this time whats the closest we can to your Sunset Strips? RTM, Maybe a SD Custom Shop JB with rough cast A5, rebel yell or something else?

The planet tone legacy PAF is not close in spec or design. I personally question a winder that claims premium part but their baseplates and bobbins have the same markings Aliexpress pickups

"A5 similar to what Gibson standardized on in late 59 through the patent days" -

The Legacy is one of their 1959 - "Constructed of period correct materials right down to the maple spacers" but with an A5 magnet, hence why I thought your descriptions seem to match.

The tone seemed similar to me in that clip as well but you know how that goes.

Idk about where homeboy gets his plastics or anything like that, I just know that the pickups I have tried in various guitars have beat out/replaced big name stuff like BK, Gibson, and DiMarzio.

Mine is not base on a PAF. It used 43awg 7000 winds vs the standard 5000 winds of 42awg seen on PAF copies I get the clarity by using a more aggressive winding pattern that doesn’t saturate as much as other 14k pickups

Ah, I assumed 'through the patent days' meant 'Patent Applied For days'. Cool info man!

Interesting that note about the 43awg, as my strat has one of the best sounding bridges IMO and it uses 43awg, as well as another set of humbuckers I have that push 14k but are still very clear and separated.
