New toy. Basically running it as a DI with a cab model to FOH mixer instead of a loadbox. Cool way to control your levels, EQ and signal to the FOH, as opposed to fucking with mics, a bunch ambient noise, some dipshit tripping over stray cables and knocking your mic stand over or cab clip off the cab.

Nice unit..........

Cool. So you have your Real Amp and cab sims. How do you like it?

Dibs

Yeah.

Do you find that changing the IRs plus the settings on the Amp that you have much of the flexibility of a Modeler but better tones ?

Did you ever get a Kemper? I'm curious as to someone's experience with Kemper vs Two Notes (or other) solution.

Can you run the Live like a DI and not using it as a load box? How do you do that?

I'm particularly interested in the load box of the Torpedo stuff. How does it change the tone and feel of your amp with using the load?

I've got one coming this week but mine is just for home use, gonna see how I like it vs my Axe 2 .

Haven't used it as a load, only a DI. When you hook a cab up to the "Thru" jack, it bypasses the load. Then, it just peels a signal off to the desk and FOH, using whichever IR and settings you want. It's like a Palmer, but digital and on steroids.

That's cool. You have the option. Let us know if you try the load box alone for some recording, or even to monitors or whatever, and if you feel it changes the tone and/or feel of your amp.

Two notes has a free plug in (or used to) that shows off some of their technology regarding cab emulation. It's freaking killer. Much better than ANY IR or cab emulation I messed with back when I had an axe fx (ownhammer and redwirez). I'm already vested into the Kemper stuff, but if I wasn't I'd give the Two Notes offerings a gander.

Very cool, Steve. I wonder how well the power amp simulation works. I imagine the cabinet sims are great.

I've got the full version plug-in. I agree, the best cab sim out there. It can tend to have a darkish, pushed back thing going on though, but does sound the most natural. I think the bigger issue for guys like me is getting a good signal to the DAW to be used, so I'm particularly interested in how good the load box is.

i dont know if the plugin and the live have the same sound, I used to own the vb101 and had nothing to do with the sound of the plugin when used through an apogee ensemble. Not better or worse just different

They're supposed to be the same code. I think the difference is the signal being sent to the code for processing. Could you describe the differences you experienced?

I'll eventually get around to checking it out as a load box. Will have to dig out one of the less costly amps to try it out on though. Load boxes make me a bit nervous om the high end stuff for testing..... :D

Check with David Turner as I think he sets his up on load or drop down to the Two Notes subforum. You can probably get some more informed help to your Q's down there.
