I came home last night to my daughter apologizing and saying that she'd done something really bad. Apparently she'd bumped into one of my wife's home decorations and in the attempt to save that knocked my RG570 off of it's stand. She said there was a chip in it and I assured her that I was pretty sure the chip was already there and it wasn't a big deal. I looked at the guitar and, sure enough, it was the old chip just slightly chippier than before and I again assured her that it was fine. Then as I was setting it back in the stand I noticed something rough on the back of the neck and I flipped it over.
The neck is cracked across the locking nut bolts.
I'm fairly devastated. I know it's repairable, but that neck was perfect. I'm taking it in today to get the estimate and hopefully the good news that they can make it just like new or better. Mojo needed.
